Job Overview

You will work as part of the EAP management team in coaching your teams to provide in the moment therapeutic support, championing in house interventions, whilst providing assistance and information on a wide range of counselling subjects. You will monitor and manage daily goals, service level agreements and quality scoring, ensuring that all are working consistently and in line with organisational expectations. The role requires high levels of professional standards whilst working in a telephone environment, adhering to KPIs and SLAs.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the running of your counselling team
  • Monitor, mentor and ensure counsellors are working in line with clinical governance and the KPIs set out within internal policies
  • Work proactively to ensure the wellbeing of all counsellors, through debriefs, wellbeing sessions and team engagement
  • Implement and maintain new weekly and monthly goals by completing regular quality assessments and coaching sessions; monitoring additional learning in line with performance management protocols and CPD requirements
  • To support the counselling team on a day-to-day basis with risk and safeguarding debriefs as and when required and ensure team members are always following the Risk Guidance policy
  • Take responsibility by ensuring all calls are being handled effectively and efficiently with no unnecessary delays
  • Create and deliver training presentations for new colleagues and shape and deliver new training presentations/programmes for existing colleagues
  • To provide daily, weekly, monthly reports to the Head of Counselling as required
  • To assist with the investigation and outcome of service issues

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support, coach and develop newly recruited counsellors throughout a 12-week onboarding programme to completion. You will be supporting counsellors within a fast-paced environment at a key stage of their counselling career. The role requires high levels of professional standards whilst working in a telephone environment, adhering to KPIs and SLAs. You will work alongside the EAP Training & Coaching team in coaching counsellors to ensure they successfully complete the onboarding programme.

Day to Day

  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the onboarding Programme, alongside EAP Coaches.
  • To collaboratively plan, organise and deliver the onboarding Programme.
  • To provide daily, weekly, monthly reports to Direct Reports as required.
  • To supervise new counsellors during the first 3 weeks of the programme, providing update meetings, delivering coaching and supporting new Counsellor queries in the first instance.
  • Deliver key training modules over the onboarding period ensuring that all Counsellors are trained sufficiently on all core services.
  • Deliver workshops facilitating scenarios and roleplays reflective of helpline calls.
  • To facilitate and deliver group listening and coaching to ensure business practises are delivered effectively.
  • To identify areas of learning amongst the Counsellors and ensure relevant training is provided.
  • Hold a clinical caseload

What You Bring to the Team

  • A level 5 counselling qualification and BACP accreditation (or working towards this)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Self-sufficient, adaptable, and goal-focused with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver training to individuals and large groups effectively.
  • Keen interest in developing and coaching counsellors
