**The Opportunity:**
This role sits within the Delivery group, which covers the core procurement activities from category management, strategic and operational sourcing, supplier management, contracting, content strategy definition, and execution. The Delivery group comprises many communities grouping categories of the same value chain or having commonality. The communities are key enablers of strong category expertise while allowing flexibility in the procurement delivery response to the evolving needs of our customers.
This position is part of the Materials, Manufacturing and Capex Procurement Delivery leadership team reporting into the Head of Materials, Manufacturing and Capex Procurement Delivery.
As a Capability Lead - Category Management, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you will bring analytical thinking, planning, execution, and focus to the procurement sourcing and delivery capability area. You will utilise your leadership expertise and your specialized knowledge and in-depth expertise in strategic sourcing, global category management and procurement overall, to drive collaboration with internal procurement and functional management to contribute and implement a best-in-class procurement delivery capability in your area. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management and strategic direction of Category Strategies within Global Procurement, drive alignment with the overarching Procurement strategy, digital initiatives, and customer satisfaction, and ensure consistent application of procurement methodologies. You will also contribute to continuous improvement projects and support both Procurement Delivery Chapters, by clearly defining what excellence looks like for global Category Management), establishing an integrated plan for establishing, implementing and enhancing global Category Management and applying a data driven approach to measure progress against this plan, while removing impediments and blockers, ensuring champion adoption, and enhancing overall procurement delivery performance.
You will collaborate with internal procurement (such as both Delivery Chapters, Customer Excellence, Business and Digital Solutions, Analytics, Contracting, Learning and Development, etc.) functional management and business stakeholders to build and implement a best in class procurement delivery capability ensuring balanced team resource utilisation, consistent application of procurement methodologies and contribution to continuous improvement projects.
You will work closely with Procurement Managers from both Delivery Chapters to establish and embed a global Category Management framework in Global Procurement. You will further work with other Delivery team members, as a coach, project, or workstream lead to identify opportunities to develop and enhance existing Category Strategies considering Category Archetypes and business priorities, and provide capacity, expertise, and oversight to productivity and other customer oriented projects/solutions.
As a Capability Lead - Category Management, you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general business requirements, including but not limited to:
+ You are a subject matter expert in global Category Management, evaluating project requests and business needs to develop and execute global Category Strategies and best practices in alignment with the Procurement strategy, digital initiatives and stakeholder / business needs.
+ You will own the end-to-end process for the Category Management Capability area, from strategic conception to end-user adoption, ensuring seamless integration and a consistent approach to Category Management and Strategic Sourcing within Global Procurement.
+ You develop content and automation, Category Management guidelines, best practices, training and communication materials that improve adoption, satisfaction, and overall efficiency of the Category Management Capability within Global Procurement.
**Who you are:**
+ You hold a university degree, preferably in business or a related discipline.
+ You have 10+ years of procurement experience in strategic sourcing, global category management, complex procurement contracting, and operational category efficiency projects.
+ You have significant experience in managing teams in a global, fluid and interactive environment, ideally in a matrix environment
+ You are a strong advocate of agile ways of working, preferably with direct experience in agile leadership.
+ You have expertise in procurement end-to-end systems and processes.
+ You demonstrate curiosity, active listening and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus very much on continuous learning and improvement.
+ You are open-minded and inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge, while being receptive to ideas and feedback from others.
+ You have experience in project management including change management and process improvement with direct experience in delivering complex business process / organizational change projects.
+ You are fluent in English to a Business level.
