Responsibilities:
- Operate a commercial vehicle (e.g., Class 2) safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes to optimize efficiency and meet delivery schedules.
- Load and unload goods securely and accurately, ensuring product integrity.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including proof of delivery (POD) signatures and any required paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service, interacting professionally with clients at delivery points.
- Report any delivery issues, delays, or customer complaints to the logistics supervisor immediately.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and tidy, both internally and externally.
- Adhere to all company health and safety procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and contribute to route optimization.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid UK driving license with relevant commercial vehicle entitlement (e.g., Category C/Class 2).
- A valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
- A digital tachograph card.
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver.
- Clean driving record with no major endorsements.
- Strong knowledge of road networks within the specified delivery areas.
- Excellent driving skills and a commitment to safety.
- Good physical fitness, as the role involves loading and unloading.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and the logistics team.
