**Position overview:**
As the Chemical Process Operator, youre a key member of the Kettering Team. You will contribute to the success of Ball byperforming tasks and proving services to support the plant's production goals and overall business plans.
The shift pattern is 6 on - 4 off, with an 8.5-hour rotating shift per day.
**Key responsibilities include:**
+ Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures a specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment
+ Supports and follows the guidelines of the food safety system
+ Performs various manual or mechanical production and support functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing the production and support equipment to meet customer specifications
+ Performs preventative maintenance on production and support equipment as required
+ Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, and parts required for assigned area
+ Supplies and maintains required hand tools
+ Initiate, review, and follows all standard operating procedures for area of responsibility
+ Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department

+ Job-related experience for 2 years minimum in the manufacturing environment

Job Overview and Responsibilities
Operating as a member of the Production Team you will ensure safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation of all plants and equipment on site, to meet production schedules and targets.
The plants run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and you will be working on a 12 hour shift pattern consisting of 2 days followed by 2 nights (on a 4 on 4 off rotation).

Requirements
- To operate all plants and equipment in a safe and effective manner, in order to achieve the weekly production targets and plan.
- Work in a small production team, following step by step working instructions and quality procedures to manufacture bulk liquid chemicals.
- Packing out and labelling of product
- Maintain accurate process records
- Carry out Laboratory testing and data entry onto IT systems
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and carry out safety, environmental, production and housekeeping audits
- Contribute to continuous improvement of all aspects of the operation of the plants and take active role in accident/incident investigations.
- To prepare the plant for maintenance work as instructed and submit maintenance requisitions and incident reports where necessary ·
- Ensure complete and accurate handover of mid-cycle production processes occurs.
- Assist maintenance and/or logistics/production support as instructed
- Use of FLT as required to complete the requirements of the role
- To problem solve quickly and accurately
Skills
Experience of chemical batch plant operation. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team to meet production targets in a safe and efficient manner. Candidates must be able to operate a fork lift truck, and use IT systems as required.
