We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team, reporting to the CEO. This role will have full financial leadership over Reown, Inc. (US) and day-to-day operations of the WalletConnect Foundation’s Cayman and BVI entities.
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for all financial functions across the group—including accounting, tax, treasury (fiat and digital assets), reporting, investor relations and strategic finance—while partnering closely with external firms, executive leadership, exchanges, and other critical stakeholders in the Web3 ecosystem.
Corporate & Foundation Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategy & reporting for WalletConnect & Reown Inc. corporate groups and related legal entities in alignment with the group’s overall mission and objectives.
- Manage investments, asset management, financial planning, budgeting, M&A and forecasting processes including structured products partnership with the Directors of Reown Inc and WalletConnect Foundation.
- Manage the preparation and presentation of management accounts, quarterly financial reports and statements for the WalletConnect Foundation entities. Design and manage relevant associated finance-ops tooling.
- Partner with external accounting firms for bookkeeping, audits, and tax/regulatory filings in all jurisdictions.
- Establish and maintain accounts with key financial service providers like banks, custodians, marketmakers, exchanges and trading desks.
- Manage and maintain group budgets and business models.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns and compliance documentation across all entities. Ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards in relevant jurisdictions.
- Support the CEO and executive team in strategic initiatives, including partnerships, tokenomics planning, and capital deployment.
Asset Management
- Develop and manage appropriate internal controls to safeguard assets. Understand and manage financial aspects unique to on-chain activities, including multisignature transactions.
- Lead treasury management for both fiat and digital assets, including oversight of the WCT token.
- Serve as a multisig account signatory, managing approvals and secure operations.
- Maintain best practices for secure custody and movement of funds.
- Manage structured products and ensure proper accounting treatment in coordination with external providers.
Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Run AP/AR processes and systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely execution; liaise with vendors/partners as required
- Implement scalable processes for payments, vendor management, and revenue recognition
Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement
- Generate institutional awareness and demand for the token in partnership with leadership including but not limited to maintaining an investor CRM, coordinating fundraising activities and roadshows, providing timely investor updates and building relationships with investors in the industry.
- Track and ensure the receipt or delivery of all investments, payments, ecosystem grants and team-member grants, including supporting proper execution of legal documentation
- Design, build and operate a public reporting framework for Foundation finances that provide appropriate levels of transparency to the tokenholder community.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For (Must Haves):
- Proven experience as CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent leadership role—ideally in a crypto-native or web3/technology startup.
- Experience working with exchanges, custodians, and market makers
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, tax regulations, and international financial operations.
- Deep understanding of digital assets, token treasury management, and multisig protocols.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally at the executive level.
- Bonus: Experience with foundation structures, public disclosures, and regulatory frameworks in the crypto space and strong investor networks.
