Job Description

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – AI-Driven FinTech Start-up

Location: London (Flexible hybrid working)

Compensation: Up to £150,000 + meaningful equity

We’re working with an early-stage FinTech venture building a next-generation AI platform that empowers organisations to stay ahead of fast-moving external developments. Combining revolutionary technology with a unique approach to contextual insight, the platform helps clients identify emerging risks and opportunities in real time, translating complex signals into actionable intelligence tailored to their business.

As they enter a critical phase, with upcoming client demos, MVP validation, and early implementations on the horizon, they're seeking a strategic, hands-on CTO to lead the company’s technical vision and execution. This is a founding leadership opportunity to shape the future of an industry-defining platform, influence product direction, build a high-calibre engineering team, and partner with global financial institutions.

The Opportunity

This isn’t just another CTO role. You will:

  • Architect and scale a highly intelligent, self-learning agentic platform capable of embedding human expertise and learning from usage patterns in real-time.
  • Build a system that interprets complex global data, links it to enterprise-specific exposures, and delivers contextualised recommendations.
  • Define a flexible architecture that can adapt to new domains and evolve with client needs.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, investors, and capital partners to ensure credibility, delivery, and long-term scale.
  • Translate PoC momentum into scalable, compliant, secure enterprise-grade deployments.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and build: Lead design and execution of a secure, scalable, cloud-native architecture. System is built in Python, using agentic LLM strategies (multi-agent RAG).
  • Collaborate and innovate: Work closely with Chief AI Engineer and founders to define the product roadmap and push the boundaries of real-time predictive analytics.
  • Lead technical delivery: Own end-to-end delivery, from prototypes to client integrations, ensuring security, compliance, and enterprise readiness.
  • Bridge vision and execution: Translate product vision into an executable roadmap while maintaining the agility of a start-up.
  • Engage externally: Be the technical face of the company in client and investor meetings, articulating roadmap, vision, and scalability.

What We’re Looking For

Industry Knowledge

  • Deep experience in wholesale financial services or adjacent enterprise sectors.
  • Proven record of deploying technology within regulated, complex enterprise environments, including integration into internal client data layers, cloud systems, and governance frameworks.

Start-Up & Scale-Up Experience

  • A hands-on senior leader with prior experience taking a product from concept/MVP to live enterprise deployments.
  • Comfortable with rapid prototyping, iterative feedback loops, and balancing tech debt with innovation.

Technical Strength

  • Deep architectural and engineering background - ideally with hands-on full-stack experience in Python.
  • Strategic grasp of LLM systems (agent-based architectures, evaluation layers, human-in-the-loop designs), even if not an AI expert.
  • Can make practical decisions on model choice, architecture design, and technical trade-offs in early-stage environments.

Leadership & Communication

  • Inspiring, credible leader who can attract top engineering talent and collaborate with AI researchers.
  • Comfortable in client meetings and investor discussions, articulating complex tech in commercial terms.
  • Brings operational rigor and creativity - equally at home building from scratch and thinking about future extensions into new verticals.

Tech Stack & Concepts

  • AI/LLM Strategy: Multi-agent RAG architecture, real-time model evaluation, adaptive agent coordination
  • Enterprise Engineering: Data lake integration, secure APIs, compliance and regulatory alignment
  • Product Focus: Real-time alerts, contextual event tracking, client-specific strategic insights

Why Join?

  • Be a founding leader in a business with a genuinely differentiated product already gaining real client traction
  • Shape the technical and strategic future of an AI-powered platform redefining enterprise decision-making
  • Earn meaningful equity in a venture positioned for long-term impact across financial services and beyond

If you’re a commercially-minded, deeply technical CTO with domain knowledge in financial services, and ready to lead a high-potential product from PoC to enterprise scale, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Description

CTO | Global SaaS | PE-Backed | Scale & Exit Opportunity

Overview:

A global SaaS business with 600 people worldwide (130 in Engineering) is entering a pivotal phase: consolidating a multi-product landscape and scaling from ~$100m ARR to ~$200m over the next three years. Backed by a leading private equity firm, this is a rare opportunity to lead the technology function through a major multi-product consolidation and scale-up, directly influencing enterprise value.

We're looking for a strategically minded, technically credible CTO - someone who can turn complexity into clarity, standardise technology, embed engineering discipline, and inspire a culture of excellence across engineering teams. You'll need to have also witnessed such scale too - not necessarily as CTO, potentially as a VP - but had a leading role and know what it takes to achieve this.

You'll partner with the COO, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Architect to design and deliver technology strategy, giving confidence to peers and investors while motivating teams through technical credibility and leadership.

Key initiatives will include:

  • Consolidating acquired products into a unified, coherent single sign-on platform
  • Driving cloud migration to AWS and broader technology standardisation
  • Embedding measurable engineering excellence across global teams
  • Aligning strategy with execution in partnership with Product, Security, and leadership
  • Leveraging agentic AI to accelerate delivery and efficiency

In terms of the experience we're looking for:

  • A proven technology leader with experience scaling SaaS platforms, ideally in PE-backed businesses.
  • Ability to earn trust and respect across both Engineering teams and the C-Suite,
  • Prior experience leading similar similar transformations - simplifying fragmented products, streamlining platforms, and integrating acquisitions to create clarity and scalability.
  • Strong technical acumen, a modern SaaS mindset, and a pragmatic approach to emerging technologies, including AI, to drive measurable impact.
  • You excel in engineering performance and know what good looks like - embedding metrics, modernising culture, and inspiring teams across distributed environments.
  • Curious, resilient, and outcomes-focused, you bring structure to ambiguity and inspire confidence at every level.

Location & Package:

London HQ, hybrid (3 days in-office). Very strong package with a highly attractive equity opportunity.

You will report to the CEO of Hynamics UK and work in close coordination with the CTO of Hynamics Group in Paris. You will be a key member of the Hynamics UK Leadership Team, actively participating in all strategic decisions and contributing directly to the development of both the UK and Group-wide industrial strategies.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Define and implement the O&M strategy for hydrogen production and distribution assets, ensuring high levels of safety, availability, and reliability.
  • Supervise ongoing operations and performance monitoring, implementing continuous improvement based on operational feedback.
  • Embed lifecycle asset management principles to optimise cost, performance, and risk across all technical systems.

Partnerships & External Engagement

  • Develop and manage technical partnerships, including OEMs, engineering firms, EPC contractors, and technology providers.
  • Collaborate with internal EDF Group entities to ensure cross-business synergies and alignment on technical platforms.
  • Represent Hynamics UK in technical forums, standards development bodies, and hydrogen industry associations as required.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all activities and assets comply with relevant UK legislation, industry codes, and safety/environmental regulations.
  • Promote continuous improvement in quality assurance and technical risk management, including processes and certification strategies.
  • Lead the capture and application of lessons learned and technical feedback from live projects and operational assets.
