As a Childcare Assistant working with young babies through to children ready to start school, you will share your love for learning and make a real difference in children's development and learning journeys. First Steps Childcare has nurseries in several locations and offers childcare options right from birth through to children ready to start school. The settings are open 51 weeks of the year, with core opening hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm, closed only for Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.

About Our Client

You will work with a Lead Childminder to deliver high-quality care, support routines, and create a safe and stimulating environment
Responsibilities
support daily routines including meals, naps, toileting, and play
Engage children in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors
Encourage positive social interaction and early learning through play
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised setting (toys, surfaces, equipment)
Supervise free play and structured activities
Assist with logging observations or daily reports (training provided)
Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene procedures at all times
Support outings, garden play, or walks to the park (as needed)
Build warm, respectful relationships with children and parents
Step in to support continuity of care in the absence of the lead childminder (under agreed circumstances)
Essential Requirements
