ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Head of Technical, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating quality standards across the group. This is a hands-on position with broad scope - from day-to-day internal site audits through to supporting major external certifications such as BRC. You will be central to ensuring all sites operate in alignment with a centralised quality management system, driving consistency and continuous improvement throughout the business. Please note that travel is a key requirement of this role, and the ideal candidate must be flexible and comfortable with regular travel across sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Day-to-day internal auditing across multiple sites
*Management of Quality Systems, ensuring all sites adhere to a centralised framework
*Supporting internal audits in line with company standards
*Supporting external audits including BRC and customer audits
*Supporting supplier audits
*Managing audit follow-ups and implementing corrective actions
*Upholding and developing training standards across the group
*Handling and managing customer complaints

REQUIREMENTS:
*Previous experience within an auditing role - essential
*Recognised Auditor qualification
*HACCP and Food Safety qualification
*Degree in a relevant food-related discipline
*Exceptional attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
*Ability to work effectively across multiple sites and teams
*Flexibility with travel - regular travel across sites is required as part of this role

We are looking for a Bridge Inspector at an Engineer or Senior Engineer grade to join our Bridges team in WSP Basingstoke office and lead bridge inspections for our local clients.
We deliver a broad range of exciting projects, providing new and varied opportunities with our existing clients and within the wider WSP business.
As a Bridge Inspector within our team you will undertake principal, general and inspections for assessment of bridges and a variety of other structures across the region. You will use your experience to provide technical input to projects, project briefs and proposals, always demonstrating compliance with Health, Safety, Welfare and CDM responsibilities.

You will be an integral part of a highly collaborative and supportive team of approximately 45 professionals based in Basingstoke. Our team brings together a broad range of technical expertise, working closely across disciplines to inspect highways and railway bridges and ensure the safe operation of critical infrastructure. We make use of the latest inspection techniques and digital technologies to improve safety, efficiency, and the quality of data we deliver to our clients.
The team's shared vision is to provide high‑quality, fast‑paced outcomes, underpinned by strong technical standards, continuous improvement, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. We use the Screening Eagle INSPECT app to capture inspection information consistently on site, including defect locations, notes, measurements and photos, so that evidence is clearly linked to each structural element. The app helps reduce manual re-entry back in the office and supports faster production of clear, auditable reports through synchronisation with the web platform for review and reporting.
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Working in a team with a wealth of inspection experience related to structural assessment.
+ Looking for people with a passion for structures and an interest in understanding how they work and perform,
+ Experience of undertaking Principal Inspection, General Inspections and Special Inspections of Bridges and other Structures to DMRB and Network Rail standards.
+ Experience in the production of clear and concise engineering deliverables with minimum supervision, including written reports, calculations, sketches and specifications.
+ Experience of using tablet-based inspection and surveying software (noting that training will be given for all bespoke software and systems). Work independently and as part of a team to deliver a work bank of inspections and can review inspection reports.
+ STE04 competency for Network Rail inspections or Highways Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS) qualification or motivated to work towards STE04 with mentoring/training and support.
+ PTS certification welcome.
+ Some of the inspection work will take place overnight and at weekends to meet the requirements of client access periods - overtime is paid. Understanding of the importance of compliance with Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM responsibilities.
