Overview

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Claims Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of claims for different clients, ensuring efficient and effective handling of each case.


How you'll make an impact

  • Manage and process claims ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into claims, gathering necessary documentation and evidence to support defence strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with MOJ guidelines and all legal requirements throughout the claims handling process.
  • Analyse and interpret policy coverage, liability, and damages to determine appropriate action on claims.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for each claim, maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop effective defences strategies.
  • Update brokers and insureds regularly on the status and progress of claims, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and changes in regulations affecting liability claims.

About You

  • Proven experience in handling claims, preferably within an insurance or legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of MOJ guidelines and legal aspects related to liability claims.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, brokers, and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in insurance, law, or a related field are preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

  • Gather necessary information, including witness statements, police reports, and repair estimates.
  • Determine the extent of the insurer's liability and the amount of the claim settlement.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, and third parties throughout the claims process.
  • Negotiate settlements within authorized limits.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claim activities and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company procedures.
  • Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalate as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to policyholders.
  • Manage a personal caseload of claims efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Claims Adjuster or in a similar insurance role.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent investigation, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CII) are a strong advantage.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
