A Global Insurer requires an additional Claims Operations individual due to growth and future projects!
You will work closely with senior members of the team on the development of the claims reporting strategy and capabilities across the business. You will also support the Claims initiative of improving the Claims Operational model by reviewing the existing reports, identifying improvements and implementing changes.
You will be required to work closely with a variety of senior stakeholders within the Global Claims division and the wider teams. Along with being an active participant in future projects and improvement to the claims operational offering.
The ideal candidate will have a strong numerical and analytical background and a good understanding of the claims process.

Job Description
As a Senior Claims Assessor, you will be responsible for managing and resolving a portfolio of complex motor insurance claims efficiently and effectively. You will conduct thorough investigations, assess liability, determine the quantum of damages, and negotiate settlements in line with policy terms and conditions. This role requires a deep understanding of the insurance industry, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities to interact with policyholders, third parties, and legal representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate, assess, and settle complex motor insurance claims accurately and promptly.
- Interpret policy wordings, identify coverage issues, and make informed decisions on liability.
- Conduct detailed investigations, including gathering evidence, obtaining reports, and interviewing relevant parties.
- Assess the quantum of damages, including vehicle repair costs, replacement values, and potential injury claims.
- Negotiate settlements with policyholders, third-party representatives, and legal counsel.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and company procedures.
- Manage a caseload of claims efficiently, prioritizing workload and meeting service level agreements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior claims handlers.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive claim records within the claims management system.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of claims handling processes and procedures.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Claims Assessor or Claims Handler within the motor insurance sector.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, claims processes, and relevant legislation.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., CII) are highly desirable.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
