Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of students, utilizing a range of standardised and non-standardised tools to identify learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.
- Interpret assessment findings and provide clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations to students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies and support plans in collaboration with relevant parties.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and school staff on issues related to student well-being, behaviour management, and inclusive education.
- Offer guidance and support to parents and families, helping them understand and address their child's needs.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programmes for staff and parents on relevant psychological topics.
- Undertake research and evaluation related to educational psychology practice and service effectiveness.
- Supervise and mentor trainee educational psychologists and junior staff as required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with professional standards and institutional policies.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute professional expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, theory, and practice in educational psychology.
- Advocate for the needs of students within the educational setting.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology (or equivalent qualification recognised by the relevant professional body).
- HCPC registration (or eligible for registration) as an Educational Psychologist.
- Substantial post-qualification experience in conducting educational psychological assessments and interventions with children and young people.
- Expertise in a range of psychometric assessment tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in providing consultation and training.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning processes, and behavioural principles.
- Experience with hybrid working models and effective remote communication tools.
- Commitment to ethical practice and professional development.
