Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for a leading Social Healthcare Service based in HR1 post code area of Hereford, who is really passionate about providing a compassionate care style.
The successful applicant will be an experienced, compassionate individual who will be able to offer service users a first-class recovery in an industry leading working environment.
This role is working full time with hours Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.
Any mileage / travel expenses incurred from needing to go away from workplace will be compensated.
Working under the delegated authority of a Registered Nurse, the post holder will compliment and form a key part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare services, providing high standards of individualised, non-judgemental care for patients and supporting the operational requirements of delivering Social Healthcare across complex Mental Health and Substance misuse services to support the delivery of holistic care packages within our integrated services.
This includes reception screening, providing agreed care packages, undertaking appropriate physical health observations, appropriate clinical duties, undertaking clinics such as Phlebotomy clinics, ECG Clinics and NHS health checks, sexual health and health promotion to improve mental, physical and social needs. The post holder will have the skills to support patients showing low level mental ill health and withdrawal from illicit substances by providing support in accordance with agreed care plans.
Please not you must be competent in phlebotomy and performing ECG's. And also must be comfortable seeing clients autonomously in a 1:1 setting, and able to recognise which health conditions need onward referral prior to starting.
A NVQ LEVEL 2 IN CARE OR EQUIVALENT IS REQUIRED.
In return for your commitment, we are able to offer a very competitive rate of pay for weekdays of between £15.91-£6.29 per hour dependent on experience determined by interview.
