Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced
Clinical Lead Complex Care
to oversee and enhance the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with complex health needs. This role involves clinical leadership, staff supervision, care planning, and ongoing service development to ensure our clients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care in line with regulatory and best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Oversight:
Provide expert clinical guidance in the management of complex care cases, including individuals with long-term conditions, neurological impairments, spinal injuries, or ventilated patients. - Care Planning & Risk Assessment:
Oversee and review detailed care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to each individuals needs. - Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate the quality of care delivered, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with CQC and other regulatory standards. - Team Leadership:
Support and supervise care staff and nurses, offering clinical advice, conducting supervisions, and helping to maintain a motivated and competent team. - Training & Development:
Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate clinical training to enhance the skills of care staff in areas such as tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, and medication management. - Family & Client Liaison:
Act as a key contact for clients and their families, ensuring care delivery is collaborative, respectful, and responsive to changing needs. - Incident & Safeguarding Management:
Lead on clinical incident investigations and safeguarding processes, ensuring prompt, thorough, and compliant responses. - Partnership Working:
Liaise with external professionals (e.g., GPs, specialists, commissioners) to coordinate and continuously improve the clients care journey.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with a valid NMC PIN
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in complex care or community-based nursing
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Sound understanding of safeguarding, CQC regulations, and clinical governance
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel if required
Desirable
- Trained in tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and other complex procedures
- Experience in staff training and mentoring
- Knowledge of electronic care planning systems

As a Clinical Lead you will provide expert oversight and operational support for complex community care packages. Do you have?
- Active NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN)
- At least 3 years post-registration experience, ideally within complex care or community settings
- Proven experience managing complex care interventions (e.g., tracheostomy, PEG/PEJ feeding, seizure management, catheter care)
- Previous experience as a Clinical Lead or senior nurse with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance, and safeguarding practices
- Experience delivering and assessing clinical training and staff competencies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and maintain high standards
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across community care packages
