The role

Our client, a global consumer finance platform, is receiving sensitive data from third party sources i.e. medical information, credit scores, other data-driven insights, via APIs .


This data needs to be securely extracted, stored, encrypted, secured, classified , with appropriate access controls and sensitivity labels applied.


You will be responsible for ensuring the data security , including encryption and key management. The data will primarily be for the US market, so knowledge of HIPPA or HITRUST is fantastic. However, experience with GDPR and ISO 27001 is also ok.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security controls for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and systems. Key responsibilities include conducting security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing. You will develop and enforce cloud security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Incident response planning and execution, threat hunting, and security monitoring are also core functions. Collaboration with engineering and IT teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle and infrastructure design will be crucial. You will stay abreast of emerging cloud security threats and vulnerabilities, recommending and implementing appropriate countermeasures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cloud architectures, security principles, and various cloud security tools. Proven experience in cloud security, including threat modeling, identity and access management (IAM), and data encryption is essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. You will also hold relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security certifications. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 4 years focused on cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Deep understanding of cloud security concepts, including IAM, network security, data protection, and threat detection.
  • Proven experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience in incident response, forensic analysis, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and compliance regulations.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CCSP, cloud provider security certifications) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
