Role Description
This is a contract hybrid role for a Solutions Architect located in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with the flexibility of some work from home. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for architecting and designing comprehensive IT solutions that meet the needs of our clients, providing consulting expertise in solution architecture, software development, integration, and business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect robust, secure, and scalable solutions across digital banking and financial platforms.
- Define and implement API strategies, including governance, gateway management, and lifecycle design.
- Work with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into end-to-end architecture solutions.
- Lead solution design workshops and technical reviews with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Ensure solutions meet industry regulatory requirements (e.g., PSD2, Open Banking, GDPR).
- Document architecture blueprints, integration patterns, and solution roadmaps.
- Support development teams through design validation, implementation, and deployment.
- Promote architectural standards, best practices, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with 5+ years in solution architecture roles.
- Strong background in banking or financial services, including knowledge of core banking, payments, and digital channels.
- Expert-level skills in API design (REST, SOAP, OpenAPI) and integration architectures.
- Experience with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft, Kong, WSO2).
- Understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, and containerization.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in financial services (PSD2, Open Banking, GDPR).
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong documentation and presentation capabilities.
