About the Job

The Cloud Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the Searidge AWS-based infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to support day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve our cloud environment.


Key Responsibilities


Manage and Monitor AWS Infrastructure

  • Oversee CloudWatch, Amazon Kinesis, SES, SQS, MSK, EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, EKS, and other AWS services
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure system health and performance
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and reliability


Operational Excellence

  • Perform routine system checks, patching, and upgrades
  • Respond to incidents, participate in on-call rotation, and perform root-cause analysis
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs for availability and performance


Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Automate operational tasks (deployments, backups, scaling)
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve system reliability


Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work with development teams to enable smooth CI/CD deployments
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, runbooks, and incident response
  • Communicate clearly about outages, upgrades, and changes to stakeholders


Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain best practices for AWS security (IAM policies, security groups, encryption)
  • Support audits and compliance requirements


Key Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience managing AWS environments in production
  • Strong understanding of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, ALB/NLB, GuardDuty)
  • Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) or container orchestration
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Proven Experience with Infrastructure modification thorough Terraform as well as application upgrades/rollback with Helm.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux administration and networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Good communication and documentation skills


Bonus Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Experience with cost optimization strategies
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)

**What you'll do**
As a **Cloud Operations Engineer** , you'll:
+ Support **Global Solution Experts** in defining operating standards for the SAP Sovereign Cloud solutions.
+ Collaborate across global and regional teams to break silos, enhance communication, and align on best practices.
+ Contribute to **process improvement & standardization** by helping refine Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Knowledge Base content.
+ Drive **scalability and harmonization** by ensuring consistent deployment practices across regions.
+ Utilize **IT Service Management (ITSM)/ITIL** processes such as service request, incident, problem, change management, and release management operations.
**What you bring**
+ 2 years of experience in a **DevOps** role and a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
+ A strong **analytical** mindset, **team-player** spirit, and a proactive, **results-driven** approach.
+ Comfortable working in a **globally distributed, multi-cultural** team and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
+ A solid understanding of **enterprise software applications** and **IT/Cloud operations** .

Our client, a rapidly growing telecommunications provider, is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Network Operations Engineer to join their expanding, remote-first team. This position is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the reliability, performance, and security of our client's global network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based solutions. As a remote employee, you will have the opportunity to work from anywhere within the UK, contributing to cutting-edge projects that drive innovation in the telecom industry.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our client's network, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network issues across diverse environments (data centers, cloud platforms). This role requires deep expertise in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies. You will play a key role in implementing network upgrades, managing capacity, and ensuring high availability of services. Collaborating with development and system administration teams to automate network processes and deploy new technologies will be a core function. Incident management, root cause analysis, and contributing to the continuous improvement of network operational procedures are also vital.

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network operations, with a significant focus on enterprise-level or service provider networks, is required. Hands-on experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), SDN, and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) is highly desirable. Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and network security principles is essential. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate remotely, are critical for success. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home while being an integral part of our client's global operations team.
