Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machine Operator to join theirmanufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality components using CNC machinery, ensuring compliance with production schedules, quality standards, and health and safety regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in both milling and turning operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Quality

Manufacture components following detailed instructions within production packs

Ensure all production documentation meets relevant quality standards

Confirm finished work conforms to technical specifications

Support New Product Introductions (NPI) within production documentation

Progress manufacturing tasks in line with the production schedule
Tool Use & Measurement

Operate and maintain CNC machinery with precision
-
Use measurement tools such as micrometres, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify accuracy
Compliance:
-
Take responsibility for personal safety and that of co-workers
-
Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety and environmental standards
-
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, reporting hazards, incidents, or unsafe behaviours promptly

Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately
-
Participate in mandatory EHS training, emergency drills, and health & wellbeing initiatives
-
Support continuous improvement in safety, sustainability, and environmental impact
-
Demonstrate environmental awareness through responsible use of materials, recycling, and energy conservation
-
Identify and report known or potential issues, recommending solutions to support risk management and corrective actions
-
Engage with Occupational Health & Safety Management (OHSM) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) processes

Exercise authority to stop production if safety concerns arise
The ideal candidate will have:

Milling and turning experience is essential

Apprenticeship trained or time-served in a relevant discipline (preferred)

GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Excellent communication skills

Ability to manage own time and workload effectively

Willingness to work 12-hour shifts

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 6pm - 6am (48 hours per week)
28 days holiday (including bank holidays) + Peoples Pension.
The ideal candidate will have experience in working within an engineering environment. The right candidate will also have excellent CNC Miller or Turner Operating experience.

To set up, run and control processes and assist less skilled or more junior employees in resolving process problems, as instructed by the Cell Leader, to meet Cell targets on cost, quality and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- To set up, operate CNC Machines.
- Draw from the relevant storage area all materials, equipment, tooling and documentation required to set up the process.
- Set up the process in accordance with relevant instructions, i.e. Route Card, P.S.P.I., I.S.P.I., Working Practice.
- Consult with the Team Leader if it is not possible to achieve process to the relevant instructions.
- Carry out all necessary checks and record on the relevant documentation all checks that have been carried out.
- Run the process or instruct the relevant employees to run the process.
Education:
- A maths based GCSE or equivalent qualification would be preferable. However a maths test will be administered to assess ability.
Skills and Knowledge:

- Previously worked on a CNC Machine, ideally in a high precision industry.
- Exposure to Turning or Grinding would be preferred.
- Experience of 3 or 4 Axis machinery.
- To account for all materials and product being worked on the process the Setter has been designated to control, for all shifts worked.
- To maintain accurate, legible records using the appropriate recording systems.
- To communicate with the Team leader on all problems affecting the process being controlled or the overall performance of the Cell.
- To communicate with other employees in the Cell, services to the Cell and other Cell leaders on process capability problems as instructed by the Cell Leader.
Knowledge
- To have a full understanding of CNC machinery, equipment, gauging, and processes performed in the Cell.
- To have full knowledge of and at all times work to, the Company Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring that all machinery and equipment is kept in a clean, safe and fully maintained condition and that the work area is at all times clean and free from hazards, informing the Team Leader of any discrepancies.
