Working for our client, a Sheffield-based Machining Technology business, supporting customers in providing machine tools and machine tool service within various industries including, nuclear, defence, power generation, offshore oil and gas and aerospace.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Lead Engineer, as Electrical Maintenance Multiskilled Engineer, you will solely be based in Machine Shops onsite in Sheffield. You will be responsible for carrying out tasks as part of a maintenance team to ensure reliability of Plant and Equipment by undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) ensuring that all supplies, materials and parts are available thus ensuring our equipment is working at its best while minimising the disruption to production where possible.
The scope of the job:
Shift Maintenance Multiskilled Engineer is responsible for the activities of the maintenance department relating to:
- Equipment and Facilities breakdowns and corrective actions.
- Planned, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance
- Working to set objectives and specifications towards meeting key performance indicators (KPI) in the operational department
- New project implementation and equipment installation support
- Equipment condition appraisal, refurbishment and continuous improvement activity implementation
- Development of personal skill sets and capabilities
- Responsible for completing and maintaining accurate, timely documentation and records via the Spidex CMMS system
- Work closely with the Engineering Team to ensure the Planning of maintenance work within the department is conducted correctly.
- Contribute and drive a continues improvement culture within their department
The responsibilities of the job:
- To assist in the achievement of operational targets and schedules by ensuring equipment and facilities uptime and availability are maintained to/above agreed performance.
- Liaise with Service Management and the Production department on a daily basis to resolve daily equipment operating concerns corrective actions to production priority requirements.
- Lead and support effective diagnosis and analysis on equipment electronic, electrical and mechanical faults and problems and implement corrective actions to return equipment to operational availability with minimal downtime
- Support equipment breakdown corrective actions across following shifts to ensure continuity of repair and minimisation of equipment downtime
- Proactively follow up corrective actions with root cause analysis and permanent countermeasure activity and implement countermeasures to minimise potential reoccurrence of a repeat fault
- Ensure relevant equipment parts stock is booked in and out of maintenance stock as required
- Lead and support interdepartmental projects activity work as assigned
- Covering holidays and absence of other maintenance engineers is expected on request of the Service Management team.
- Responsible for ensuring all actions taken contribute positively to the Company's overriding objective of quality, by complying at all times with any relevant procedures and work instructions.
- Utilise the Spidex Maintenance Management system and ensure reporting is conducted effectively.
- Communicate timely updates on tasks undertaken to departmental Maintenance and production management.
Salary:
24.59 hour

Key responsibilities of the CNC Operator
Prepare and operate 3 Axis CNC milling machines
To operate manual machines such as Mills & Lathes
Understand specifications of the task as hand and the desired result of reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc
Translate instructions into computer commands on CNC machines to perform the correct function
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to product a better result
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
Knowledge and experience of the CNC Operator
CNC Programme Operator able to work with great concentration and precision
Keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude essential
Proven experience as CNC programme operator
Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
