CNC Machinist - Setter/Operator - Salary circa 35,000 depending on experience - based in Epping
A well-established company who designs and manufactures high end doors and panels for both commercial and residential clients are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist to set and operate 5 Axis machinery. The ideal candidate will have previous Setting and Operating experience gained within a joinery environment and must have their own transport.
What's on offer:
- Salary circa 35,000 depending on experience
- Hours 7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 3.15pm on Friday
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays

The role:
- Work form customer drawings and specifications to produce wooden doors, frames and panels to a high standard
- Set and operate 5 Axis CNC machines (Homag)
- Diagnose and resolve machine issues, adjusting offsets and coordinates as needed to ensure smooth operation
- Quality check work produced
What's required:
- Previous hands-on joinery/wood machining experience is essential
- Ability to read and understand complex technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Previous CNC experience with a focus on timer or woodworking (cross training will be given)
- Must be a team player with a can-do, positive attitude
- Due to location own transport is essential

Within this role, you will be based at a brand-new, purpose-built facility and will be joining an expanding team.
Candidates will have previous experience working as a CNC machinist and will have worked with XYZ protrax, Mazatrol, Heidenheim, Fanuc, Yasnac or similar software. You will need to be able to work from engineering drawings and be able to program machines.
Reporting into the Moulds and Tooling Production Manager, the successful candidate will work within a small team responsible for the machining of moulds and tooling used in automated machinery. You will also produce programs using online conversational control / offline CAD/CAM.

Salary: Starting around £13.00 up to £17.50 per hour + shift premium , depending on experience, plus overtime at time and a half and benefits

Responsibilities
This is a rare and exciting role, forming part of a new and dedicated machining team. This team are to cover the operating of a range of machines including turning, milling and grinding
We require experience previously with CNC machinery as an operator or machinist in Turning, Milling or Grinding. You will only be required to work 4 afternoon shifts Monday to Thursday 2.45pm to midnight, and be paid a good and competitive salary with the potential for more with overtime paid at x1.5 and progression within this growing company!
Those successful will have to complete a training period which could be up to 12 weeks working Monday to Thursday 6.30am - 3.15pm and Friday 6am to 1pm. Once training is completed you would then transfer to the permanent afternoon shift Monday to Thursday - 2:45pm – midnight
Some general responsibilities will include;
- Operate a range of machines li>Work via instructions and drawings
- Working to tight tolerances
- Meeting deadlines for batches produced
- Communicate with other team members and work together as a team
Requirements
- Experience in a similar industry/role, ideally in a machining environment
- Any one of the following experience is required; milling, turning, deburring, grinding, gear cutting.
- Willing and happy to work a permanent shift Monday to Thursday starting at 2.45pm till midnight
- Can work the day shift for the training
- Be proactive and a great team player.
- Be able to work effectively and efficiently to meet target deadlines
