Working hours:


Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm (1-hour unpaid break) – 40 hours per week

Key responsibilities:

  • Schedule, load and monitor production runs on the fastener cell
  • li>Perform tool setting/changeover for each production run
  • Conduct first-line maintenance and address initial technical issues
  • Maintain stock levels for lubricants, tooling and materials
  • Ensure equipment uptime and efficiency through preventative care
  • Achieve production KPIs and quality targets
  • Work within health & safety and LEAN principles
  • Contribute to team meetings (SQDIP) and improvement projects
  • Maintain a clean, organised working environment
  • Provide support to others in-house production tasks when required

About you:

  • You’ll have experience in toolmaking or CNC machining and possess working knowledge of cold forging machinery, such as headers, thread rollers and induction heating systems.

The Role:

In this role you will be required to set and operate a variety of CNC programmable machines to produce a variety of high quality parts and tooling. You will also be required to complete production related tasks as directed by the department Supervisor. Basic CNC knowledge is required although training can be provided.

·Working to set procedures and tolerances

·Operating machines to a high rate of efficiency to produce quality machined parts.

·Maintain continuity among colleagues by documenting, reporting and communicating on actions, irregularities and continuing needs.

·To undertake training and operate a range of CNC machinery.

·To maintain the work are to a high standard of housekeeping.

·Providing cover for the shift leading hand when required.

·To perform tasks throughout the cleats department area including: packing, operation of the cleat saws and operation of the lathe.

·Follow a production plan to ensure parts are made on time of delivery.

Requirements:

-CNC Setting or Programming experience

OR CNC qualification interested in training

- Heidenhain experience (ideal, not essential)

-Mechanical Engineering background

The successful CNC Operator will be responsible for the manufacture and test of a variety of products and assist in the implementation of processes and tooling/test equipment to support reliable and cost effective manufacturing.


Key responsibilities of the CNC Operator

Prepare and operate 3 Axis CNC milling machines
To operate manual machines such as Mills & Lathes
Understand specifications of the task as hand and the desired result of reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc
Translate instructions into computer commands on CNC machines to perform the correct function
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to product a better result
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality


Knowledge and experience of the CNC Operator

CNC Programme Operator able to work with great concentration and precision
Keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude essential
Proven experience as CNC programme operator
Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
Mechanical Fitter/ Assembly
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
Keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
Good communication abilities
Successfully completed apprenticeship preferable
