We are currently recruiting for a commercially qualified Gas Engineer to join an established and supportive team based in the Odiham area. This is a permanent role involving both installation and maintenance work across multiple sites, with a strong focus on compliance and reliability.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to complete and pass security vetting as part of the onboarding process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial gas systems
- Installing commercial pipework and plant equipment within boiler rooms
- Servicing and maintaining commercial gas boilers, hot water cylinders, and associated systems
- Replacing gas meters and booster sets
- Diagnosing faults and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner
- Ensuring all work complies with current gas safety regulations and company standards
Required experience and qualifications:
- Valid commercial gas qualification (e.g. COCN1) is essential
- A solid mechanical background with strong problem-solving skills

The Role
You will be largely self-managed and involved with working in Natural Gas, LPG, and Oil mainly on commercial and industrial sites, carrying out fault finding, maintenance, repairs, and annual servicing. There are also some smaller elements of domestic work required for our loyal private client base.
The Candidate:
- Should have previous experience within a similar role
- Should be qualified in commercial & domestic natural gas, LPG & oil
- Holding certification in any additional field, i.e. Part P, COMCAT, F-GAS, etc would be advantageous
- Hold current CSCS card
- Hold DBS dated within 3 years, and be willing for an enhanced DBS check to be carried out
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Must hold full valid UK drivers licence (max. 3 points)

JOB PURPOSE
The main objective of the role is to carry out installation/maintenance works predominantly in commercial gas environments.
JOB RESPONSBILITIES
- Servicing heating systems and boilers (domestic and commercial)
- Installing pipes and fixtures for water, gas, air, or other liquids
- Installation and fault finding on all types of heating systems and domestic hot and cold-water systems and carrying out necessary and appropriate repairs.
- Use of press fit tools
- Installing heating plant, domestic water plant and water heaters
- Collaborating with contractors, construction workers, electricians, in installing and repairing plumbing.
- Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes
- Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken
