What you'll be doing…

The Content Editor, Newsletters position is an exciting new role that will be responsible for all the email newsletter output across Homes & Gardens and Livingetc, creating brilliant products that deliver traffic to the websites and also engage the audience on platform. Your task is to nurture our email audience and ensure they engage with the content. You’ll handle building, scheduling, QA, approvals and final deployment.

This position will be a part of the CRM/Email team at Future, which sits within the wider Audience team operating within the B2C division. As a member of the email team, you are a core central function to the business, supporting and collaborating closely with many additional teams at Future and working very closely with the Homes & Gardens and Livingetc editorial teams. The Content Editor, Newsletters will ensure appropriate copy and voice for the brands are portrayed within newsletters, while being responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all campaigns.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…

  • Experience in email marketing, copywriting and proofreading.
  • Proficiency with Google documents & spreadsheets and working knowledge of Google Analytics.
  • Passion for the home interest industry.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, while adhering to deadlines and being flexible with real time changes.
  • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.

We're looking for a Content Producer / Editor to be responsible for the creation of audio-visual content, with a primary focus on the Film and TV industry. For this particular role, you'll ideally have experience of being in front of a camera or behind a microphone, as well as versed in cutting down/editing your own audio and video footage."

What you'll be doing…

As Content Producer / Editor at WhatCulture, you'll present and produce original content for WhatCulture’s YouTube channels and associated website as relevant, with a primary focus on film and TV. You'll be cutting down and editing video footage, ready for publication (training available) and generating ideas (for both your own creations and others) for new content by using analytical data alongside your own industry knowledge.

You'll stay on the pulse with social media to identify what is trending/being talked about, to help shape new content ideas, and be liaising with other members of the team to share ideas and help grow the channels and audience.

  • A charismatic personality, with the confidence to work in front of the camera.
  • An engaging voice, with experience in voiceover work.
  • Brimming with ideas and with experience of working within teams (in-person and remote) to bring them to life.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, and the wider Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Highly organised and with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Familiarity with current technology in video production.

About Us:

At Twinkl Scotland, we pride ourselves on creating quality content for all ages and stages of Scottish education. From ELC, through Primary and now into Secondary, we aim to provide content that engages learners and supports Scottish educators in getting it right for every child. The Role:

Conduit is our Scottish Secondary brand, launched in August 2022. We began with a small team of English teachers to develop teaching and learning resources as well as materials to support skills development to help bridge the gap between the BGE and Senior Phase. We now work on additional subject areas too, with more coming online soon. The Conduit team has become so successful that we are ready to grow and develop our Secondary offering further. We are seeking candidates for multiple subjects to write and edit BGE and Senior Phase content for Scottish Secondary teachers and students.

You can apply as a Content Writer & Editor for any of the following secondary subjects: (Please make it clear by using the drop down list on the application form, which subject you are applying for) 

  • Maths
  • Science
  • Business Education

How you will spend your week:

  • Meeting with other Twinkl writers and editors, the Conduit Product Owner and Secondary Segment Manager to discuss new ideas;
  • Writing and editing CfE content for the Scottish Secondary market;
  • Identifying and developing new project ideas within your chosen subject and wider Conduit Team;
  • You may also do some editing work for other subject areas across the Conduit Team;

In this role, you will learn :

  • How to create and edit new teacher content for our Scottish team, from ideation stage to publication on the site; 
  • Remote collaboration, working closely with writers and editors across the country;
  • How to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • Be focused on collaboration, using feedback to make our resources the best they can be;
  • Have detailed knowledge of your chosen subject within the Curriculum for Excellence;
  • Be confident at creating resources for the Senior Phase, as well as the BGE;
  • Have an excellent understanding of the needs of Scottish teachers and support staff delivering learning within the classroom or at home;

We're interested in anyone who meets the following: 

  • Minimum of 3 years recent secondary teaching experience in your chosen subject and also the BGE and Senior Phase within the Curriculum for Excellence; 
  • Qualifications: PGDE, BEd or equivalent;
  • Access to a fast and reliable internet connection.
