Composites Lead Engineer
to take a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of composite components for our Formula 1 car. You'll lead a talented team of design engineers, driving the development of cutting-edge solutions that deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and manufacturing quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of design engineers in the concept, design, testing, and development of composite components and assemblies.
- Oversee design schemes from initial concept through to detailed drawings, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing.
- Manage surface components and laminate specification booklets to the highest standards of accuracy and performance.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support throughout assembly, testing, and development phases.
- Drive continuous improvement in design concepts, manufacturing methods, and associated tooling and fixtures.
- Plan, prioritise, and monitor group projects to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
- Delegate effectively to balance workloads and maximise the team's output.
- Anticipate and manage potential technical challenges to ensure robust and innovative solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Take an active role in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management within the group.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging composite technologies and F1 design standards.
- Champion best practice in Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across all activities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification in a Composite Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience as a Senior Composite Design Engineer within a Formula 1 environment.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex composite assemblies under demanding timescales.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD systems - ideally CATIA, with expertise in solid modelling and composite manufacturing techniques.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity within motorsport.
- Effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Calm, confident decision-maker under pressure, with a meticulous attention to detail.

**Responsibilities**
+ Become a key figure in the manufacturing environment respected for a deep and insightful expertise in carbon composite and resin transfer molding processes.
+ Be an engaging, supportive and motivational leader to a small but growing team of carbon composite manufacturing engineers.
+ Champion and in some cases lead root cause analysis activities across the manufacturing landscape with data driven solutions to manufacturing engineering problems guided by structured problem solving methodologies (Six Sigma, Red X, 8D, Lean).
+ Creating and developing production techniques from raw material to finished product placing Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory & productivity (SQDCIP) at the center of all decisions.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

+ An understanding of engineering statistics i.e. Process Capability, Hypothesis Testing, Design-of-Experiments, Statistical Process Control.

+ Experience of configuration control in a highly regulated industry.
**Desired skills**
+ Experience within a tightly regulated industry, preferably aviation.
+ Knowledge in the specification, installation and commissioning of robotics, automation and controls.
+ Broad experience in a variety of manufacturing & engineering roles centered around product creation and delivery.
+ Specialism in propulsion and propeller manufacture.
+ Experience in facility design, commissioning and technical specification in an automated environment (automotive, FMCG, warehouse logistics etc.) highly valued.
+ Experience with 3D Catia, 2D AutoCAD and/or another CAD package.
+ Knowledge of 3D printing from CAD and part production.
