A well-established national law firm with offices across the UK is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join its expanding Birmingham team. The Role
You will work within a dynamic and collaborative dispute resolution team, managing a broad range of contentious matters. The caseload will include a mix of commercial litigation, property and construction disputes, insolvency matters, and contentious probate.
The role offers a balance of autonomy and team collaboration, providing the opportunity to develop strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the Birmingham office.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a broad portfolio of litigation matters, including:
- Commercial contract and shareholder disputes
- Construction and engineering claims
- Property and land disputes (including landlord & tenant)
- Insolvency and asset recovery
- Contentious probate and trust disputes#
- Manage all aspects of files from initial instruction through to resolution, including pre-action, pleadings, disclosure, witness evidence, ADR, trial preparation and enforcement.
- Provide pragmatic, commercially-minded advice to clients across a range of sectors.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple practice areas to deliver joined-up client service.
- Support business development initiatives and help to raise the firm's profile in the West Midlands region.#
- Supervise junior fee-earners and contribute to internal know-how and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with the firm's quality, risk, and financial management procedures.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience in litigation or dispute resolution.
- Solid track record of running your own caseload and delivering practical solutions to clients.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to align legal advice to business objectives.
- Strong communication and client-handling skills, with a professional and confident approach.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure.
Desirable:
- Experience in construction disputes, insolvency litigation, or contentious probate.
- Some business development experience or interest in networking and client growth.
- Experience working within a multi-office or national law firm environment.
