About The Role:

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of construction projects within the Police Scotland contract at OCS. This role will assist in managing a diverse portfolio of projects across Scotland, ranging from £0k to 00k, including refurbishments, roofing, and civils.

Working closely with the Construction Project Manager and wider delivery teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and to high standards of quality. You will also take the lead on smaller projects, managing them independently from initiation to completion.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to grow their career in construction project management within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

***The prospective candidate will obtain Non-Police Personnel Vetting Standards (NPPV) Level 1 in order to be considered for this role***

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in coordinating capital works project delivery through vetted and accredited supply chains.
  • Take the lead on smaller construction projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Support pre-start meetings, technical inspections, handovers, and site walkarounds.
  • Help maintain project documentation including CPPs, H&S documents, and variation logs.
  • Monitor sub-contractor performance and ensure resources are aligned with project needs.
  • Contribute to programme management and scheduling of project activities.
  • Assist in stakeholder communications and promote a collaborative, one-team approach.
  • Support the implementation of community initiatives and SME engagement.
  • Help manage commercial risk in line with OCS procedures and policies.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and client stakeholders.

About You:
  • Some experience in construction or project coordination, ideally within hard services or small works.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety standards (IOSH or SMSTS desirable).
  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and construction phase planning.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Security Clearance to NPPV/1 will be a mandatory requirement of this role.
  • Full driving licence essential.

School Site Assistant / Caretaker / Facilities Assistant required to work in the Birmingham area

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-15:30pm

Pay: £13.00 per hour

As a Site Assistant, you would be required to support the Site Manager at a school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide portering services, including setting up classrooms and event spaces, moving furniture, and assisting with deliveries.
  • Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, plumbing and equipment.
  • Liaising with contractors and escorting them around the site
  • Support the upkeep of the swimming pool, including water testing, routine cleaning, and assisting with plant room checks (training will be provided if required).
  • Carry out safety and maintenance checks on school minibuses and other site vehicles, ensuring they remain roadworthy and compliant.
  • Ensuring the security of the school's premises and grounds, locking at the appropriate times, closing of windows and setting of alarms. Unlocking and locking up the school site as well as individual departments. Key holding responsible.
  • Assisting with lettings, bookings, set up of equipment and grounds supervision of evening/weekend meetings and after school activities
  • Maintain outdoor areas to ensure a safe and tidy school environment - litter picking, grounds maintenance, etc
  • Empty bins / rubbish removal
  • Report any health and safety issues/ concerns to the site manager

About you:

  • Experience in general maintenance, caretaking, or site support work.
  • Good understanding of COSHH awareness and Health and Safety knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence (D1 entitlement desirable).
  • Holds an ENHANCED Child DBS in date within the last 12 months, or an ENHANCED DBS on the update service.
  • Must have safeguarding training - BlueArrow can provide this if required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

+ Good knowledge of clinical trials, combined with in-depth knowledge of departmental, protocol and study-specific operating procedures, consent forms, and study schedules
+ **Must have at least 2 years experience working as a Clinical Research Assistant or Clinical Research Coordinator at a clinical trial site**
+ Basic knowledge of medical terminology
+ Strong IT competence, skilled in using MS Windows and Office applications such as Access, Outlook, Excel, and Word
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
+ Good organizational skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail

Due to a strong pipeline in residential projects we are looking to expand our Ermine operations team and recruit an experienced Assistant Site Manger. You will be part of a Team delivering a simple yet high end project across three site in Enfield.

The key responsibilities:

  • The ability to maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management
  • Implementation of project strategies in order to achieve the company's sustainability objectives
  • Co-ordinate labour, materials and resources on site and approving payments to trades and contractors where appropriate;
  • Ensure that all plots are built to the highest standard of quality, complying with Warranty Standards, Building Regulations, range specifications and best practice;
  • Undertake quality control procedures and inspections when required and rectifying any defects so as not to incur additional cost, delays, or reduction in the final quality;
  • With the support of the Projects Director / Project Manager, ensure that the on-site construction team is fully resourced and well-directed and are provided with full support in achieving their responsibilities by clear communication, training and development, and the good organisation;
  • The ability to establish and maintain standards of quality on site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and requirements
  • Manage the client expectations and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations
  • Implement the supply chain policy
  • Management of community relations and ensuring appropriate site image is maintained to encourage repeat business
  • The ability to produce and develop project programmes and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time
  • Elimination of waste and avoidance of non-recoverable costs and preliminaries losses
  • Maintain continuous professional development to ensure appropriate technical awareness
  • Implement standard procedures
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect / snag free completion
  • Support the strategy for the closure of defects during defects period and obtain certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set
  • Implement best practice and drive continuous improvement

Essential and Desirable Criteria

What we are looking for:

  • A track record of being part of a team on high end residential schemes
  • Controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets.
  • Effective supply chain management & Efficient use of all staff and resources
  • Reading and accurately interpreting programmes, drawings and technical specifications
  • Ensuring project team(s) understanding of drawings and technical specifications
  • Proactively liaising with customers and the supply chain.
  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc) or equivalent.
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • SMSTS certificate.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Valid driving licence.
