Responsibilities:
- Assist skilled tradespeople with various construction tasks, including groundwork, formwork, concreting, and basic carpentry.
- Learn and adhere to all site safety regulations and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with site preparation, including setting out, digging trenches, and managing materials.
- Learn about different construction materials and their uses.
- Transport materials and tools around the construction site as directed.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized worksite.
- Support the installation of various building components.
- Follow instructions from site supervisors and experienced workers accurately.
- Attend all required apprenticeship training sessions and complete assignments.
- Develop a broad understanding of the construction lifecycle and different trades involved.
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn practical skills.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor.
- Awareness of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to attending work and training regularly.
- Basic understanding of construction or practical work is advantageous but not essential.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry.
