About the role


As an experienced Site Manager, you will play a key role in our Operational Team, working hand in hand with our Pre-Construction, Commercial and Procurement Teams to ensure effective delivery of a new build social housing project in Selkirk, Scottish Borders.


Key roles and responsibilities include;


  • Liaise with our Pre-Con team to ensure projects are ready to hit the ground running.
  • Oversee subcontractors to ensure effective management and quality control.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including the client, architects and engineers, as needed.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure effective cost management.
  • Produce regular internal and external reports on project progress against the programme.
  • Work closely with your Contracts Manager on issues including labour requirements, recording daily labour and reporting on this weekly, etc.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with NHBC, Building Control, etc.
  • Work in partnership with our SHEQ team to promote and ensure a strong safety culture on site at all times.
  • Use a range of IT systems including Work Wallet, MS Office packages, Project Commander, etc.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the company's Health and Safety policy.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Site Manager with a background in delivering social & affordable housing projects, including flatted developments.


The ideal candidate will be/have;


  • Trade background and/or suitable academic qualification within the construction industry, such as HNC, HND, Degree or relevant level of SVQ, equivalent to SCQF level 6-7, combined with several years of relevant industry-related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and Health and Safety standards and requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and time management skills.
  • Clear and effective communicator, in-person, via email and in meetings.
  • Able to set clear objectives for themselves and others (in line with the needs of the role).
  • Hold a current and valid UK Driving licence (essential).
  • Valid SMSTS and First Aid tickets (essential).
