THE ROLE:
The Brand & Content Director will lead the development of VCCP’s own brand narrative, editorial voice, and thought leadership across all communications. Sitting at the heart of the in-house marketing and comms team, this is a pivotal role shaping how VCCP shows up in the world, from press releases and award entries to global campaigns as well as how we show up internally to our people.
You’ll be responsible for articulating what VCCP stands for as an agency, elevating our profile across the industry, and ensuring that every piece of content reflects the creativity, ambition and challenger approach to our work and our thinking.
This role is perfect for a brand-savvy storyteller who can combine strategic thinking with editorial craft, and who thrives on shaping a distinct and consistent voice for a world-class creative business. You’re a practitioner, writing and editing and living in the detail as well as the big picture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand leadership:
- Own and evolve VCCP’s global brand strategy, positioning and narrative ensuring consistency across offices, campaigns, and touchpoints. Define and evolve VCCP’s brand narrative, tone of voice, and messaging across all external and internal touchpoints
- As VCCP’s brand guardian you will develop and own VCCP’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and strategic messaging framework across all offices and touchpoints. Write and refine key narratives, boilerplates, and positioning statements for all communications
- Work hand in hand with our content creator on our look and feel
- Define and drive a PR program around our creative approach ‘populating culture’
- Analytics & Insights: Monitor PR performance, undertaking competitive analysis on a quarterly basis, and use the results to optimise messaging and formats for the team. Feed these results into Aly
- Act as the internal brand champion - ensuring all external comms, decks, and social media reflect our creative values and ambition
- Lead all branded news output for the agency that tells stories about our talent, our culture, ESG or growth
- Work closely with agency leadership to evolve how the VCCP brand shows up in new markets and sectors
Content Strategy and Execution:
- Oversee the development and execution of an annual content calendar that helps to drive our business growth objectives and raise VCCP’s profile globally. Lead on sector specific thought leadership aligned to growth plan
- Lead the creation of high-quality editorial content and storytelling, looking after our thought leadership program, opinion pieces across the group, and leading brand-led press announcements alongside driving the global internal newsletter, social posts, award entries, and thought leadership. Alongside the newsletter, lead on key internal comms projects. Sit on internal Business Resource groups such as Thrive, ESG to support and overview brand VCCP internally
- Lead on the Challenger Series podcast program with Charles to ensure it runs smoothly, communicating key milestones with Charles and executing a robust go to market plan
- Lead and manage a robust executive thought leadership programme - developing key narratives, ghostwriting opinion pieces and speeches, and securing speaking opportunities to position VCCP’s leaders at the forefront of industry conversation. Ensure all bios are up to date
- Lead on all new business announcements and reporting to Campaign new business tables
- Oversee all copywriting for VCCP’s social media channels, ensuring consistency in tone of voice and alignment with strategic messaging. Work with the social and design teams to develop scroll-stopping, channel-appropriate content
- Work with teams across the agency to craft compelling stories that reflect the impact of our work and thinking
- Drive multi-market campaigns that elevate VCCP’s voice and visibility in the industry
