The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity and an exciting time to join the busy Continuous Improvement (CI) function. Supporting with the deployment of the Law Society's CI approach predominantly through the delivery of improvement work using CI methodology and tools, with the addition of delivering learning courses to build the CI capability across the organisation.
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Lead, the role holder will build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation to drive CI opportunities, activities, engagement and learning to enable benefits to be realised.
This is a varied role which will see you work across all departments using a variety of CI methods and tools, where no day will look the same.
What we're looking for
- Specialist knowledge and experience of CI methods and tools at Lean Green Belt level
- Extensive experience of using CI tools such as DMAIC, SIPOCs, Process Mapping, Standard Work, RACIs, Structured Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
- Relevant experience of leading process redesign projects, from Process Mapping and issue identification to the creation and implementation of improvements using Action Plans
- Demonstrable experience of co-designing and delivering engaging CI training material including activities and exercises, to groups of up to 30 people from various levels across the Law Society, both in-person and online
- Experience of co-designing, leading and facilitating workshops with multiple teams to support a collaborative approach to improving ways of working, with the ability to respectfully challenge current ways of working

You will take the lead in mapping, analysing, and redesigning complex institutional processes, working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to identify areas of friction, duplication, or inefficiency. Using your expertise in methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and service design, you will turn detailed analysis into practical improvements, embedding new ways of working that are sustainable, measurable, and aligned with UAL’s strategic ambitions.

About you
You bring substantial experience in process improvement, business analysis, or organisational change, ideally gained within large, complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Highly analytical and detail-oriented, you are skilled at streamlining workflows, embedding sustainable improvements, and translating complex processes into actionable insights. You thrive on collaboration, leading workshops, and co-designing solutions with diverse stakeholders, using recognised improvement methodologies to deliver measurable results and embed lasting change. Strong influencing skills enable you to guide senior leaders and teams in adopting and iterating new ways of working.
