We are recruiting for a IT Build Engineer for a leading IT service provider based in Reigate.

The role:

Building machines in the office

- Testing the upgrade and deployment procedures

- Testing application packages and the user experience

- Writing both technical and end-user KBs

- Feeding back into the team on the experience so policies/packages can be amended

- Supporting/guiding end-users during the transition

We are looking for someone with good customer facing experience that been through migrations and sees things through an end-user perspective.

This is an umbrella contract, the role is Inside IR35.

The Company: Our Client is an innovative Multi-Disciplined Design & Engineering Lead provider of automation engineering services and solutions across a wide range of industries, 

Due to sustained continued expansion , they now require a Machine Build Engineer to build and functionally develop feed systems and special purpose machinery within agreed timeframes to design specification.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Mechanically assemble machinery to general arrangement drawings.
li>Install and plumb pneumatic elements of machinery.
• Attend customer site for installation, commissioning and/or service visits when required.

The Person: Candidates suitable for consideration should be able to provide evidence of the following:

• A HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Experience of working in a mechanical build/assembly environment.

You will be self motivated, have excellent communication skills both written and oral, be computer literate, and able to work as part of a team. 

The successful candidate will enjoy a salary of £35,000 to 42,000 plus excellent prospects and an employment package that you would expect from a company that values its employees.

In this role you will collaborate closely with our expert in-house tech team to support and develop our proprietary game engine, Asura. You'll play a key part in maintaining and improving our internal build pipelines, automated testing systems, and asset processing tools.

This role is based at our riverside headquarters in Oxford, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success. Responsibilities :

• Assist in developing and improving automation solutions.
• Help enhance developer workflows.
• Support in extending and improving existing build processes and systems.
• Diagnose and fix errors that occur in developer or continuous integration workflows with guidance.
• Maintain and improve existing tools written in Python and other scripting languages.
• Analyse, communicate, and assist with build results and issues.
• Contribute to improving continuous integration processes (e.g., using Jenkins).
• Research new tools, techniques, and processes that can benefit Rebellion and our games.

• Manage build infrastructure, including build servers, version control systems, and artifact repositories, and implement monitoring and alerting to ensure system health and availability.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Build Engineer or similar role in the gaming industry, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable build systems for large-scale game projects.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Strong knowledge of build tools and version control systems, including Git, Perforce, and SVN.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, CI/CD tools, and configuration management (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex build issues and optimize build performance.

The Opportunity

The Senior Build Engineer is an exciting new role within the Rebellion North team. This role will be dedicated to working on Rebellion games and with trusted industry partners on genre-defining IPs. The successful candidate will help maintain and improve our internal build, test, and asset processing systems.
