Role Overview:

As a Retouch Artist, you will refine and enhance 3D CGI imagery and photographic assets, ensuring every pixel reflects our client’s design excellence.

As a Technical Artist you will enjoy collaborating and working closely with our art, design and programming teams to ensure that art elements are optimised for performance.

REQUIRED SKILLS


  • Unity or Unreal experience: Solid understanding of Unity (preferred) or Unreal, including optimization techniques and engine-specific features.
  • 3D authoring tools: Proficiency in Maya, Substance Painter/Designer, Marmoset, ZBrush, or similar tools, with a strong attention to detail and ability to bring art concepts to life.
  • Shader creation: Extensive experience creating shaders using Unity’s Shader Graph and HLSL, delivering visually striking effects optimized for XR. Skilled at balancing aesthetic quality with strict performance constraints.
  • VFX expertise: Experience with Unity’s particle systems and real-time VFX, producing impactful visuals while maintaining runtime performance.
  • C# skills: Comfortable with C# scripting to integrate technical art solutions and collaborate with engineering teams.

Sprung Studios is looking for an experienced Technical Artist to join our team in the Brighton studio!


We are interested in hearing from individuals who are passionate about games , Technical Art, and delivering high-quality UI experiences.

We have worked on some of the world's biggest games for clients such as EA, Microsoft, Bethesda, SEGA, and many more. What You’ll Do:

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with Production, Seniors, and UX/UI Designers to create interfaces for games on console, PC, and mobile
  • Work in the engine,
  • Take wireframes, design specifications, and turn them into reality
  • Use engine/animation tools to bring the UI to life
  • Design rapid UX and UI prototypes
  • Design, write, and refine UI systems
  • Assist in the design of UI functionality
  • Implement UI design assets in-game
  • Design and create UI and UX materials and particles
  • Design and create Textures and Images for in-engine use
  • Integrate animations and FX into the project


What You’ll Bring:

  • 2+ years of games industry experience
  • Adobe Suite experience
  • Extensive knowledge of UE4 and Unity
  • Experience in creating complete UI systems
  • Bringing UI to life through motion/transition design
  • Comfortable working with teams across the world and in different time zones
  • Proven experience of working in a feature-led/pure agile environment
  • Exposure to UI system creation on multiple platforms

Position : Full-Time, 12 month Fixed Term Contract

We are working with a hybrid model. Mondays and Fridays are options for working from home, with everyone in the Studio on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
