Salary: 16.37 per hour

Length of Assignment: 3 months with review for extension

Hours: 37hrs Monday-Friday

Role overview

Opus People Solutions is recruiting on behalf of Rugby Borough Council for a Control Centre Operator to effectively manage the services delivered by the Control Centre Team. The supervisor will support the Independent Living Co-ordinators in service delivery to the independent living residents. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of control centre operators, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service while adhering to our policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and manage a team of control centre operators, conducting regular one-on-one meetings and team gatherings to foster communication and collaboration.

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive staffing and on-call rota system, ensuring all shifts are adequately covered.

- Manage resources efficiently, ensuring staffing and stock levels meet service requirements.

- Assist in the formulation and implementation of local policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate standards.

- Oversee stock control for equipment, maintaining adequate levels to support the Control Centre's operations.

- Monitor and review maintenance contracts for Control Centre systems, authorizing requests as needed.

- Ensure appropriate back-up and disaster recovery arrangements are in place and regularly tested.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to meet organizational and customer needs effectively.

- Maintain accurate records of customer information and incidents on designated systems.

-Work on council's projects and new implimentations

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a safeguarding environment.

- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.

- Proficient in maintaining records and reports.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator to join the Spacecraft Control Centre Support Team in the Chippenham area, Wiltshire, reporting to the Head of SCOF Engineering.

The Spacecraft Control & Operations Facility (SCOF) comprises all Ground Equipment, Computers & Software and connectivity across multiple sites required to effect Command and Control of the SKYNET Constellation of spacecraft. At the core of the SCOF is the Spacecraft Control Centre, also distributed across multiple sites, which comprises the main computer systems which host the main C2 Software applications and provide the operator workstations.

*HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM *

* Sys Admin expert for the installation of the SKYNET 6A Spacecraft Control Centre and computer systems across the SCOF network, in order to bring it into servicen* Perform general computer configuration and maintenance activities including equipment swap-out, reconfiguration and restoration of capability.n* Use of network skills to ensure SCC works well with existing SCOF equipment and networks. CISCO CCNP Enterprise certification is an advantage on appointment.n* Assist SCOF Eng team in investigation and rectification SCOF system problems raised through internal tracking processes.n* Be Lead SCC Engineer (SK6A) for development of roll out plans for deployment of system upgrades, enhancements, including software patches and fixes.n* Development and implementation (in a specific test environment) of robust test procedures and scripts to manage system changes, fixes, and supplier delivered upgrades prior to operational deployment.

* Experience of using UNIX / LINUX is essential for this rolen* CISCO CCNP or CCNA is desirablen* Experience working in a System Administration rolen* Experience managing a CISCO Network rolen* Experience of supporting high availability systems, ideally with a focus on Linux based hardware and softwaren* Good knowledge of IP networking and familiarity with Cisco networking devices

Research Associate (Drug Control Centre) - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS About Us

A vacancy has arisen for two Research Associates (Postdoctoral Analyst) within the Drug Control Centre (DCC), King’s Forensics in the Department of Analytical, Environmental & Forensic Sciences, Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, School of Cancer Studies, and Pharmaceutical Science. Each post holder will carry research driven by the needs of the DCC, a WADA sports testing laboratory accredited by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.

About The Role

Under the supervision of the Head of the DCC, the postholder will function effectively under the dual laboratory accreditation of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and UKAS for sports testing (ISO/IEC 17025 quality system).

POST TWO: The post holder will have demonstratable expertise in bioanalytical research applied to the analysis of small molecules and/or proteins. Laboratory expertise within Gas or Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry or Immunoassay/Electrophoresis is essential as a time commitment to routine analysis to inform research will be required.

As a research associate you will have knowledge and understanding of large datasets and experience in data evaluation to extract meaningful insights and draw conclusions to inform analytical research.

The post holder will work to a research plan as part of their role being responsive to changing priorities within a demanding WADA laboratory environment maximising the efficiency of the analytical service being provided. Your research portfolio will be varied as required within the DCC and as such project management, meeting deadlines and good organisational skills are a must.

The development of research ideas and the publication and dissemination of research will be an expectation of the role. Areas of interest may include sample validity, ESA analysis, criteria for confirmation of threshold substances, SARMS and Therapeutic Use Exemptions.

This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered as a 3-year fixed term contract in the first instance.
