Your new role:
Our client has an exciting opportunity for someone to join their team on a UK eyes-only project as a Quality Control Inspector working on challenging and exciting world-leading defence projects.
The Quality Control Inspector will ensure that all Quality standards are achieved for both manufactured and purchased component products.
You will provide the final point of inspection for the products, maintain reports and performance metrics and raise quality non-conformance reports (NCR), support the problem resolution process, including Containment, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventative Actions.
The successful candidate must possess the ability to solve simple problems, provide operable solutions, and act with minimal direction on their own initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into a quality database (SAP).
- Keeps measurement equipment operating and manages calibration systems.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Auditing manufacturing processes where required.
- Completing Non-Conforming Reports with root cause analysis.
- To work closely with production personnel, carrying out first off, final, and random inspections using CMM and FARO Mechanical inspection equipment.
What you'll need to succeed:
To be successful in the role, you will need proven experience as a quality inspector or in a relevant role with a keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
If you are a traditional Quality Control professional with experience in Quality Inspection, then you are highly encouraged to apply.You will need to have practical experience with CMM measuring equipment and be able to reverse-check CAD models.
Have familiarity with FARO laser measuring equipment on large heavy industrial components and a thorough knowledge of quality control standards and inspection methodologies for both electrical and mechanical systems.
The ability to obtain UK security clearance to SC level is essential for this role.

Business Need / Purpose of Role:
Responsible for performing various inspection tasks within the Company under the instruction of the Inspection Team Leader whilst working with your colleagues in the inspection team to ensure conformance to Company standards, specifications, and drawings.
Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities
But not limited to:
Primary Tasks
- The ability to cover the inspection of products and processes relating to all aspects of quality control with the Company.
- To ensure the conformance of products and processes to relevant specifications and standards and complete and maintain accurate documentation in a timely manner according to the Company requirements.
- Timely Inspections
- Dimensional Reports (where applicable)
- To raise non-conformance reports where any items or processes do not conform to standards or specifications/drawings.
- Using recognised quality control measuring techniques / equipment where manufacturing processes are tightly controlled to ensure the products meet agreed standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that good housekeeping is maintained within all areas.

- Provide status updates if / when required efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.

- Fully experienced with all inspection / measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, thread gauges and hardness checking equipment.
- Fully experienced in reading and understanding Engineering drawings (component and assembly).
- Experience of using a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (manual & CNC) and / or Inspection Arm is desirable.
- Conversant with materials certification.

Your Role:
As the on-site QA/QC Inspector, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring all construction activities meet project specifications, industry regulations, and high-quality standards. From inspecting installations and verifying materials to collaborating with construction teams, you’ll be key to delivering a safe and successful project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily inspections of PV systems, cabling, structures, and electrical works
- Monitor compliance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards
- Verify delivery and installation of approved materials and components
- Prepare NCRs, inspection checklists, and quality documentation
- Witness and document electrical/mechanical testing (IR, continuity, torque)
