The successful candidate will ensure the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of aircraft within controlled airspace. This position demands a deep understanding of air traffic management principles, excellent decision-making capabilities under pressure, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage air traffic movements using advanced surveillance systems, including radar, ADS-B, and potentially future technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with all national and international aviation regulations and procedures.
  • Detect and resolve potential conflicts between aircraft, maintaining safe separation minima.
  • Communicate effectively and concisely with pilots via radio telephony.
  • Coordinate traffic flow with adjacent Air Traffic Control units and other aviation stakeholders.
  • Provide optimal routing and altitude information to aircraft to enhance efficiency and reduce delays.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and abnormal situations.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous professional development to maintain skills and certifications.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of air traffic control procedures and technologies.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of all air traffic control activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Full UK Air Traffic Controller Licence with relevant ratings (e.g., Aerodrome Control, Approach Control, Area Control).
  • Significant experience working as an Air Traffic Controller in a busy terminal control area or airport environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating and interpreting data from advanced surveillance systems (e.g., SSR, ADS-B, Primary Radar, Multilateration).
  • Thorough knowledge of air traffic management principles, flight dynamics, and meteorology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal (radio telephony) and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity for rapid decision-making.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under high-pressure situations.
  • Proven teamwork and coordination skills.
  • Medical certificate Class 3 or equivalent.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
