Are you passionate about cooking and creating a welcoming dining experience? Trust Housing has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cook to join our friendly team in East Kilbride on a permanent part-time basis.
You’ll play a key role in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for our customers and occasional guests, while helping to create a warm and inclusive dining environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Planning, preparing, and cooking varied menus, including for special dietary needs li>Ensuring meals are served on time and meet food safety standards (including hot holding)
- Following our Food Safety Management System and completing HACCP documentation
- Supporting budget management through stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Promoting the meals service and engaging with customers to gather feedback
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
- Participating in team meetings and supporting a positive team culture
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures
- A respectful, inclusive approach to working with older people
- A team spirit and willingness to support others
- Up to 26 hours per week on a 2-week rolling rota (see rota)
- £13.00 per hour li>Generous holiday allowance

We are currently looking to recruit several Enhanced DBS Chefs and Cooks in and around Nottinghamshire, working within Care homes, retirement villages, schools & nurseries. You will be required to help and support with any sickness, short term and long term, both full time and Part time positions are available.
PLEASE NOTE: To be able to work within this environment you must have enhanced DBS covering adult, child or adult & child workforce, within the last 12 months or on the update service.

- Previous experience as a chef

- Level 2 food hygiene certificate dated within the last 3 years. (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
- Level 2 Health and Safety Certificate (ideal but not essential as training is provided)
- Passion for food
- Available to cover ad hoc last minute sickness requests for our clients this can be on the same day.
- Experience with the IDDSI framework to prepare and cook texture diets
- Ability to work under pressure
- Due to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicle
- A DBS (essential - as mentioned above)
Working Hours: You can choose your working rota each week, the working hours will vary from site to site and may result in more/less work depending on your flexibility. If you are working within schools or nurseries you shift times will be anything from 7/8am until 2/3pm. For any care homes or Nursing homes the times will be from 6/7am starts until around 4/5pm.
The working environment : Due to the various types of sites we cover your working environment will change from site to site. We will look to place you in the most comfortable environments for you. We supply to contract catering sites, Schools, Prisons, Care homes, hotels, and events etc.
