Initially this is a 1 month contract and will be reviewed on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities:
As an Editorial Assistant you will:

  • Assist in the editorial process by coordinating submissions and managing communications with a team freelancers
  • Help maintain high editorial standards by proofreading and editing documents ensuring business tone is aligned with the piece
  • Organise and track your own workload to ensure it aligns with publication deadlines for release
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to develop content for various scientific publications
  • Review and edit a variety of documents, including but not limited to scientific publications, marketing materials and website content
  • Have your own allocated documents to proof read, amend daily
  • Provide suggestions for improving overall written content

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • A degree in a relevant scientific discipline would be beneficial although not essential, an English degree would also be advantageous for this role!
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills proven in a workplace
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading abilities - excellent command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with editorial software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience in editorial or publishing roles is essential
  • Understanding of the publishing process, especially in scientific contexts

  • Produce new and data-responsive content for editorial and commercial  as and when required.

  • Experience in producing content whether through own channels or academic studies. Relevant knowledge of fashion and beauty is preferred.
