**Business Unit Overview:**
BlackRock Finance consists of finance professionals in disciplines including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, Tax, Finance Controls, Sourcing and Vendor Management, Finance Platform Support and Controllers. Treasury Accounting, which is included within Controllers, is a team with presence in Atlanta, New York and Edinburgh, responsible for corporate investment accounting activities globally.
**Job Purpose/Background:**
The Investment Accounting Team is responsible for the monthly accounting and reporting of BlackRock's corporate investment portfolio, derivatives, fund consolidations, minority investments, external debt, and alternative fund reimbursements.
Vice President will lead the day-to-day accounting and control operations of the team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Preparation and review of supporting schedules used for the Firm's 10Q and 10K reporting
+ Assist in the reporting of monthly non-operating income to management
+ Preparation and review of fund consolidations and de-consolidations
+ Accounting and reporting for debt and derivatives
+ Partnering with the business/stakeholders to gain understanding/improve end to end processes and controls
+ Participate in testing and other ad hoc projects, including technology enhancements
+ Partnering with business management and global accounting service teams to resolve queries and enhance controls
**Development Value:**
+ This is a globally focused role in a team which is core to Finance Controllers. The role interacts with both Finance and non-Finance teams around the globe providing opportunity to understand business growth and product development while developing key relationships
+ This role will provide the candidate with the scope to effect positive change to the control environment by harnessing system capabilities and constantly evaluating processes and procedures to create value for the Firm
**Knowledge/Experience:**
+ Greater than 6 years of experience, combination of public accounting (preferably in the "Big 4"), and/or work experience in Corporate Accounting
+ Developed understanding of investment products and related accounting topics
+ Knowledge of Oracle Financials, Aladdin, and Coupa is desirable
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

**THE GROUP REPORTING TEAM:**
The team is headed up by the Group Reporting Manager, supported by 2 other Accounting Specialists. The work of the team includes:
+ Working with external auditors to ensure accurate, on time statutory filings globally
+ Co-ordinating work with external advisors including local accounting firms, and external advisors and support services
+ Supporting local GAAP reporting whether via local accounting firms or secondary ledger reporting in Oracle, and reconciling USGAAP ledgers to local GAAP ledgers
**THE POSITION:**
This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join a key function within our accounting team. This role reports to the Group Reporting Manager and this team of four is responsible for managing or overseeing the statutory reporting requirements for the Group and its subsidiaries. The team is responsible for supporting the production of 32 individual subsidiary/branch financial statements under local GAAP.
**Key responsibilities:**
For the reporting entities assigned to the Accountant, the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
+ Maintaining and reconciling Oracle secondary ledgers to Oracle USGAAP primary ledgers, including posting journals required for local statutory reporting in the secondary ledgers
+ ensuring all necessary accounting information and records are provided to the local accounting firm and reconciling local books to Oracle records (Primary and, where applicable, Secondary ledgers).
+ Either working directly with our audit partners or via external advisor support services, supporting the audit work to ensure all required information, analysis, reconciliation and reporting is provided accurately and on time
+ Supporting the Manager in advising on technical accounting and financial reporting issues and the implication on the Group's financial statements;
+ Assisting with other Ad-hoc needs and requests

**SUCCESS PROFILE:**
**Qualifications/Experience:**
+ The candidate must hold a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA,ACCA or similar) or be part qualified.
+ Prior experience in statutory accounts preparation including preparing ETB and strong reconciliation experience
+ Financial reporting experience (required): FRS 101/102 and IFRS; sound working knowledge of US GAAP; and
+ Working with multi-currency consolidations including complex currency transactions & structures
**Key Skills:**
+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This role requires someone that can not only identify issues but can work effectively to resolve them, with support and guidance from the Group Reporting Manager;
+ Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills for interacting with both financial and non-financial employees, as well as senior management;
+ A detailed individual who enjoys understanding processes and transactions in depth;
+ Apply sound time management judgement in relation to prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
