We are recruiting on behalf of a London local authority for an experienced Correspondence and Appeals Officer to join their Parking Enforcement team on a contract basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing correspondence related to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), including representations and appeals. This is a key position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a sound understanding of enforcement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
·Handle written correspondence from motorists, enforcement agents, and stakeholders concerning PCNs, permits, and related matters
·Process formal representations and appeals in line with statutory requirements and council procedures
·Review case files, evidence, and documentation to assess appeals and draft accurate, impartial responses
·Sort, index, and scan incoming correspondence; process payments in accordance with financial protocols
·Ensure all decisions comply with Traffic Management legislation, data protection laws, and internal policies
·Maintain accurate case records and contribute to performance reporting
·Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners including Chipside, enforcement agencies, and adjudication services
·Provide clear, empathetic, and professional responses to public queries to support confidence in the enforcement process
