If you have experience of Cost Estimating in a Mechanical Engineering environment, can read 3D CAD drawings, and have a technical mindset (ideally related to anything automotive), then this could be the ideal role for you. We are looking for an Mechanical Estimator to analyse pricing strategies for new products to take them through the product lifecycle. You must be anal.

Senior EHV Cost Estimator UK wide / Flexible Permanent Competitive + Car/Car Allowance + Flexible Benefits Summary Freedom Network Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Operational Estimator to compile comprehensive estimations in line with supplied documentation and current standards.As a EHV Senior Cost Estimator you will take the lead on surveying/pricing new Connection Projects and be responsible for managing and delivering accurate, tailored estimates in a timely efficient manner. The Estimator is a key player in driving company growth

by ensuring enquiries are dealt with efficiently whilst being accurate and adhering to the client’s specification.

You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working/pricing local DNO networks and/or National Grid projects including ICP and IDNO connections. Typical projects/pricing will incorporate Scaffolding, Trackway, Traffic management, Materials,

plant, equipment and Resources. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

Preparation of quotations from specifications and drawings within defined time periodsOn site Surveys/site assessments and evaluate any risks and potential problems/financial delivery damagesEvaluations of options or alternativesResponsible for the checking of accuracy and completeness of 3rd party documents and engineering specificationsIn conjunction with procurement, liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain the best available quotationsProduce formal quotation documentationLiaising with operational colleaguesAttend handover meetings were required and explain project scope, estimate, clarifications and assumptions. Senior Estimator / Cost Estimator with a strong background working on large civil engineering projects (earthworks, tunnelling, bridges etc) required for a permanent or contract opportunity in London.

This role will see you work on a wide variety of civil engineering projects across the rail, nuclear and highways sectors. Hybrid working is offered by applicants must be happy to work three days a week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing detailed cost estimates for large earthworks packages, bridges, tunnels, and other heavy civils works
• Supporting the project team with accurate cost and quantity estimates
• Analysing project specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive project estimates
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Ensuring estimates are robust, accurate, and meet all required standards and regulations
• Working collaboratively with the project management team to advise on cost issues and budget considerations
• Monitoring ongoing project costs and providing regular updates to stakeholders
• Preparing cost forecasts and risk analyses for various phases of heavy civils projects

**A little more about your role.**
You will play a pivotal role in pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying (QS) services to our clients - especially measurement, estimating, procurement and post-contract commercial management of projects ranging in size and complexity.
**YOUR TEAM**
You will join a diverse, growing team of Quantity Surveyors specialising in estimating and cost management, who work across multiple sectors including highways, structures, public realm, property and maritime.
You will be part of our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM) - made up of approximately 400 colleagues across the UK. This team provides Quantity Surveying/Cost and Commercial Management, Programme and Project Management and Project Controls services to deliver both Building and Infrastructure projects for public and private clients. You will be within one of our four groups - **Civil Infrastructure and Utilities** . For your information, our other groups within PMCM are Buildings, Programme Solutions, and Rail.
You will be based in one of our offices in **MANCHESTER, BIRMINGHAM, TEESIDE, BRISTOL & GUILDFORD** which are near public transport, and shops/local eateries.

**WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE**
**Essential**
+ AssocRICS working towards MRICS or a desire to do so.
+ Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to demonstrate some knowledge, ability and experience with regard to estimating at various design stages, measurement/methods of measurement and digital tools and post contract administration (NEC, JCT)
**Desirable**
+ Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
+ Adaptable and flexible approach to workload
+ Are passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a dynamic team
+ Have an alternative, relevant, professional qualification or working towards (e.g. CICES, AcostE)
+ Hold a degree, or similar higher education academic qualification
+ Have proven organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Familiarity or working knowledge of specialist software such as CostX and CEMAR
+ Working knowledge/experience of NEC Contracts and other industry standard contract forms
+ Ability to travel from base office or home to site, client/project team offices, other WSP offices, and project locations
