**The Opportunity**
**As an Infectious Diseases, part of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) division** , the Rapid Diagnostics business, are recruiting for a **Senior Sales Scientific Liaison** who will be strategically supporting the business unit (at a national level) working across multiple product lines.
Some of the main objectives of the role:
+ Identify and develop strong sustainable relationships with National and Regional Key Opinion Leaders to support Scientific credibility of the company
+ Collaborate with other field based teams to ensure Abbott's strong clinical and scientific presence in the field
+ Work with internal stakeholders to develop and execute a plan designed to support and meet the shared business objectives
+ Serve as a scientific resource to commercial partners as appropriate to support such activities (congress staffing, advisory boards and training (internally/externally))
+ Develop and communicate clinical and scientific information, programs and presentations both internally and externally
+ Prepare the marketplace in new areas of interest, which includes creating awareness and relationships for Abbott in the Medical community
+ Contribute to improving the closing rate of the sales teams through using their mastery of the clinical benefits of selected products
+ Input and maintain internal reports and manage KPIs
Frequent UK travel (up to 60%) is anticipated.
**Required Qualifications and Skills**
+ Degree or equivalent in Biological Science, Pharmaceutical, or Nursing related field
+ Previous SSL experience preferred but not essential
+ Experience with emphasis on clinical stakeholders and KOLs
+ Familiarity with diagnostic industry practices in infectious diseases and ideally familiarity with market(s) relevant to product line.
+ Thorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry, NHS and private healthcare providers
+ Demonstrable track record in building networks and maintaining relationships
+ Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
+ Ideally experience delivering change initiatives and facilitating change in a customer focused organisation
+ Able to work collaboratively with commercial and internal colleagues
+ Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
+ Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

About the role
Imperial College London invites applications for the position of Head of the Department of Infectious Disease, a leadership role at the forefront of internationally recognised translational research. The Department's research includes the fundamental biology of infectious diseases to the development and application of new approaches to treatment. There are major research programmes in human immunology and retrovirology, oncogenic human viruses, molecular microbiology, tuberculosis and vaccine development.
We are seeking an exceptional academic leader with a compelling vision to lead the Department of Infectious Disease. The mission of the Department is to develop and sustain a unique portfolio of translational research where scientists from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds work together to address the unmet needs for infectious disease control on a global scale, that is recognised internationally for scientific excellence, for leading innovation in patient care and for supporting the training of leaders for the next generation. You will be expected to develop and implement a future vision and strategy for the DoID, in line with the University's ambitions, and to enable the DoID to further enhance and extend its international profile.
What you would be doing
You will be leading one of the largest centres of infectious disease research in Europe, with over 65 principal investigators. The Department operates across sites at Hammersmith Hospital, St Mary's Hospital, South Kensington Campus, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital.
You will lead the department and deliver the Department's scientific strategy and to lead on and promote inter-Departmental research opportunities, seeking links with colleagues in other Institutes and Departments in the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, the post holder will be expected to act on opportunities to collaborate with Imperial's non-medical Faculties, the AHSC partners including the Imperial College Biomedical Research Centre, and with other national and international institutions.
You will provide direction for, and contribute to, growth of the successful undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes of the Department and of the Faculty as well as to the Faculty's medical training programme and online educational developments.

You will provide strategic vision, direction and leadership to the Department and will ensure that appropriate plans, management and governance structures and practices are in place.

You will also ensure the operational sustainability of the Department through income generation and resource management as well as formulate and implement academic strategy and plans in conjunction with the Dean and Faculty management team.
You will therefore be able to demonstrate:
- Evidence of having formulated and implemented academic strategy and plans;
- Substantial experience at managerial level for a department /institute of an academic institution;
- Evidence of experience ensuring sustainability of a department/institute through income generation and resource management.

Role overview
Kent is looking to appoint an innovative and forward-thinking Consultant in Public Health to join its highly regarded and well-resourced Public Health Division and help to drive its exciting agenda forward.
The council has a highly experienced team working with its Director of Public Health, including a Deputy director as well as six additional Public Health consultants all working to achieve the aspirations of its members for improving the health and wellbeing of the Kent population.
Kent Public Health is aiming to become a Centre of Excellence, undertaking a range of innovative activities in research, innovation and improvement, advanced analytics (using integrated data and predictive modelling) and offering increased number of education and training placements for multiple professional groups such as Public Health Speciality Registrars, junior doctors and university students. Kent enjoys national recognition for several programmes including Public Health research linked with Europe. The successful candidate will play a leading role continuing this work and spearheading this journey.
You will be responsible for the line management of public health specialists as well as a dedicated budget for this area of the service. You will lead on the education and training function which includes responsibility for maintaining and improving its department's specialist training location for speciality registrars and other professional groups.
Part of this role will involve overseeing the development of the JSNA which will includes regular reporting to strategic boards. As well as developing and utilising information and intelligence systems to underpin public health action across disciplines and organisations, leading collation, and interpretation of relevant data.
The public health function is well integrated into the council, supports the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System and has an overall Public Health budget of circa 92 million with a major focus on reducing health inequalities.
