**OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION**
Japanese Corporate Banking Division (London) is a front office in charge of business development of customers located in United Kingdom, Ireland and other demarcated countries in EMEA of which ultimate parents are Japanese Corporates.
Credit analyst team sits within the Corporate Banking Department together with the relationship management team, and its main responsibilities is to support the existing credit related businesses as well as origination of new credit businesses.

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
+ The role will require an ability to meet specific deadlines for the facility and borrower rating renewals of existing customers, as well as to be able to respond to an urgent ad-hoc request from the customer/RM's requests, any credit related support including documentation process to be given for the origination of new businesses.
+ Responsible for supervising the team members for the execution of objective analysis in respect of credit granting and credit control and to support relationship managers with the credit risk management queries while ensuring and providing a high level of (internal) customer service in line with agreed procedures and service standards.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Perform submission of credit and borrower rating applications as well as other monthly and quarterly reports for the complex customers and core customer groups in line with the Bank's global rules on a timely manner.
+ Provide high quality credit analysis and monitoring for the assigned customers within Japanese Corporate Banking Division (London) along with the specific sector/industry analysis in order to submit applications and relevant reports.
+ Collaborate with other branches/offices, primary offices and credit division to deliver the transaction to meet the customers' needs.
+ Managing the daily workflow processed by the team effectively by coordinating with the team leader of credit analyst team the available resource and monitoring workflow. Provide assistance where the additional resources are required.
+ Develop and enhance the skillset of the team by reviewing applications and reports prepared by each team members and assist them to complete before circulating to the relationship management team to ensure sufficient quality is maintained and to ensure compliance to rules, policies and procedures of the Bank.
+ Maintain awareness of developing market sector and business trends in EU/Europe and on a world-wide basis.
+ Undertake and support various credit related tasks as directed by the team leader of credit analyst team, as well as the Department Head and the senior management.
+ Drive ongoing process improvement activities by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy and collaborative working with particular attention to the quality of credit risk analysis.
+ Provide assistances and training to implementation of processes and standards for JCBD credit risk space to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines.
+ Demonstrate MUFG's values, specifically operate with integrity, professionalism and strong teamwork within JCBD.
**WORK EXPERIENCE**
+ Relevant experience in credit analysis in subsidiary banking business for large/medium sized Japanese Corporates
+ Required knowledge and experience in managing credit risks, including but not limited to understanding for risks for certain sector/country/industries, risks for different products and understanding of credit documentation terminologies.
+ Experience in managing teams, interpreting and delivery against divisional strategic objectives
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**

+ Thorough knowledge of credit and risk management, MUFG credit processes and procedures (or similar experience in another organization.), onboarding and originating credit facilities as well as understanding of regulatory requirements.

**Overview of the Department/Section**
+ The Credit Analysis team is the Bank's first line of defence, sitting alongside CIB bankers to promote an optimal risk / return on the banks' lending opportunities.
+ Credit Analysis is a 50+ team organised into 5 sector corporate teams. Each credit analyst is responsible for managing risk exposure across an EMEA wide portfolio.
+ Analysts work with Front Office teams on live transactions & risk monitoring to identify and mitigate risks associated with the structure, documentation, counterparty, industry and macroeconomics.
**Main Purpose of the Role**
+ We are looking for a senior credit analyst on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to cover a varied portfolio of largely non IG/private company/complex IG corporate credits across the Consumer and Retail space.
+ The credit analyst will perform forward looking fundamental credit calls on live transactions, limit renewals and annual reviews.
+ Along with client meetings the analyst completes a credit opinion including cash flow forecast, recommending approval, a neutral stance, or non-approval of the proposed transaction.
+ Updating financial analysis for quarterly and year end results. Actively monitoring assigned portfolio of IG and NIG corporates for potential changes in credit risk. Assign or update internal ratings.
+ Coach junior team members and assist team manager to review their papers.
+ Assist team manager in the management of the team workflow and other day to day operations/projects/initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead complex client credit due diligence following key risk events or for on-boarding of new clients.
+ Quickly assess key credit issues, raise salient points to the correct stakeholders and to assess the risk- reward trade off.
+ Ability to multi-task and manage ever changing and often conflicting priorities; Ability to work with a high level of motivation and initiative;
+ Work diligently to develop technical skills and industry knowledge related to the role. Work towards becoming an expert in a sector and/or geography.

**Work Experience**

**Functional / Technical Competencies:**
+ Experience of covering Investment Grade, Non-Investment Grade and private company credits.
+ Preference for prior experience in the Consumer & Retail sectors across EMEA, albeit not mandatory.
+ Ability to take a forward looking view using cash flow modelling and stressing testing.
+ Existing experience in coaching, mentoring and reviewing junior credit analysts work.
+ Strong understanding of complex loan/bond documentation and key credit protections. Good understanding of market risk and ISDA's.
+ Languages desirable and ability to work across regions with locally based coverage teams
**Education / Qualifications:**
+ Degree level.
+ Other financial professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACCA, ACA etc.) will be seen as highly beneficial.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Privacy Support: Acting as a subject matter expert in privacy by supporting the BUs with privacy queries and projects impacting privacy/data protection across EMEA
+ Digital Tracker Governance: Support the governance process by reviewing intake forms and ensuring they include necessary information in correct format, by ensuring approved details are transferred to the digital tracker inventory, intake tool enhancements, and by supporting training and awareness
+ Enterprise Web Catalogue: Manage the process on webpages/microsites owned by the Privacy Practices team by completing attestations, updating records, registering websites and supporting the Business if they have questions on the privacy pages
+ Privacy Notice Support: Support on the creation & update processes of Cookie Notices as well as supports the Business on questions related to Privacy Statements
+ Training and Awareness: support the creation and the maintenance of training material. To be proactive on supporting awareness campaigns across the business, promoting privacy culture and educate on changes to laws and regulations
+ Governance Framework: Support activities in relation to maintenance of the privacy governance framework. Partner with ICS Risk and Control teams across International to implement and execute high-quality privacy risk management standards and practices to increase awareness of privacy standards, controls, regulations, and industry best practice
+ Privacy Risk Assessments: support the business in completing privacy assessments (e.g., DPIA, LIA, etc.) and driving consistent guidance. Issue Prevention: support the Business activities to prevent and resolve privacy issues, granting effective process and controls execution
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Experience in Risk/Control Management
+ Privacy knowledge and understanding of Privacy regulations in EMEA
+ Proficiency in English
+ Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality; strong analytical and problem-solving skills

As a Risk Analyst and relationship manager to credit bureau, you'll play a key role in shaping how we use credit bureau data to make smarter, faster, and fairer decisions. You'll build strong relationships with our Credit Reference Agencies, explore cutting-edge data products, and uncover insights that help us stay ahead of emerging credit trends - all while ensuring compliance and governance excellence.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead strategic partnerships: Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with Credit Reference Agencies to ensure access to high-quality data and innovative solutions.
+ Unlock insights: Analyse bureau data to detect early industry credit trends, enabling proactive decision-making across the customer lifecycle
