Our client is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Agricultural Crop Protection Specialist to join their esteemed agricultural division in Norwich, Norfolk, UK . This role is vital for ensuring the health and productivity of our client's diverse range of crops through the development and implementation of effective crop protection strategies. You will be responsible for identifying potential threats to crops, including pests, diseases, and weeds, and devising integrated pest management (IPM) programs. Key responsibilities include conducting field inspections to monitor crop health, analyzing pest and disease outbreaks, and recommending the most appropriate and sustainable control measures. This involves staying abreast of the latest research in crop protection, evaluating new products and technologies, and advising on their safe and effective application. You will work closely with farm managers and agronomists to implement these strategies and provide ongoing support and training. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of entomology, plant pathology, weed science, and toxicology, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of agricultural chemicals and biological control agents. Excellent observational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are essential. The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences is crucial. This hybrid position allows for collaboration in the field and office, with flexibility for remote work on research and reporting tasks.
