We are looking for someone with a passion for food innovation and a proven ability to translate scientific knowledge into commercially viable products. A deep understanding of ingredients, processing technologies, and the FMCG landscape is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of innovative new food products from ideation through to market launch.
  • Conduct formulation development, benchtop trials, and sensory evaluation.
  • Optimize existing product formulations for improved quality, cost, or nutritional profile.
  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes for pilot and commercial scale-up.
  • Conduct comprehensive shelf-life and stability testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, regulatory affairs, and operations.
  • Prepare detailed product specifications and technical documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new ingredients, and emerging technologies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to product quality and performance.
  • Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations and quality standards.

Qualifications:
  • BSc or MSc in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in food product development within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new food products.
  • Strong understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing technologies.
  • Expertise in sensory analysis and statistical design of experiments.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for food and innovation.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety management systems.
