Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize remote sensing data (satellite, drone imagery) to monitor crop health, growth stages, and identify potential issues (e.g., pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies).
- Process and analyze large datasets using GIS software, image processing tools, and statistical methods.
- Develop predictive models for crop yield, risk assessment, and resource management.
- Interpret data to provide precise, actionable agronomic recommendations to farmers and agricultural consultants.
- Collaborate with research teams to develop and validate new remote sensing applications in agriculture.
- Create clear and concise reports, maps, and visualizations to communicate findings.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in remote sensing technology, GIS, and agricultural science.
- Assist in the design and implementation of field trials to validate remote sensing data and models.
- Support the integration of remote sensing data with other agricultural data sources (e.g., weather, soil data).
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients on the use of data analysis tools.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in applying remote sensing and GIS technologies in an agricultural context.
- Proficiency in image processing software (e.g., ENVI, ERDAS Imagine) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Strong programming skills in Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
- Solid understanding of agronomic principles, crop physiology, and soil science.
- Experience with analyzing data from various satellite platforms (e.g., Sentinel, Landsat) and drones.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
