We are seeking a Lead BI Developer with strong technical leadership and hands-on software engineering expertise. You will play a pivotal role in defining technical vision, driving engineering excellence, and mentoring teams to deliver robust, scalable systems that support business transformation and long-term growth.
Total Package £144,000 - £177,000 (could be higher)
This role could suit someone who is looking to progress into a BI Team Lead role having previously been doing coaching and mentoring without necessarily having had the job title.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery Leadership: Align engineering deliverables with business priorities to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor, embedding user needs into solution design and delivery.
- Technical Direction: Define and drive the technical vision, promoting scalable architectures and modern practices.

Experience required
- Track record coaching and mentoring engineers in a Senior BI Developer role or Leadership role
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, ETL pipelines
- Experience would be highly useful with PowerBI, Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake), CI/CD, and DevOps
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business discussions.
- Collaborative mindset with experience driving results in dynamic environments.

A leading organisation in the property space is investing heavily into its data capabilities and is now looking for a Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics to take ownership of BI strategy, lead a growing team, and drive the adoption of modern cloud and AI-enabled analytics.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and deliver the organisation’s BI and analytics strategy, aligned with business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI developers and analysts, building capability and driving best practice.
- Oversee the design and delivery of reporting and analytics solutions in Power BI, ensuring scalability and adoption across the business.
- Manage the Azure-based data environment, ensuring data quality, governance, and security.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across multiple business units, embedding analytics into decision-making.
- Stay ahead of BI/AI trends and introduce tools and practices that add measurable value.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- 5+ years’ leadership experience in BI, analytics, or data science, ideally in high-volume or customer-centric environments.
- Strong SQL and Power BI (DAX, modelling) skills, with proven hands-on ability.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling BI teams.
- Experience delivering BI strategies and aligning analytics with business KPIs.
- Background in Azure data platforms.
Desirable:
- Python for automation and analytics.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven BI (e.g. natural language querying, automated insights).
- Experience with CI/CD for BI solutions and version control (Git).
