A unique opportunity to join AWS as a Data Centre Technician. You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on one or more operating systems. You will be able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. Issues are escalated to the appropriate resolver groups when necessary. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to convey Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) to junior staff. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
You are able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as an escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.
24/7 shift coverage is required and may include 12 hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day work weeks, and may change based on the needs of the business. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the region's sites
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
- Must be commutable to the Thames Valley Region.

Basic Qualifications
Data Centres are 24/7 environments. All interested candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts (day/night) as well as weekends. Data Centre Technicians are also required to wear a pager for communication, information, emergency, and on-call situations.
3+ year of Computer Hardware experience
3+ years of Computer Networking experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in IT-related field applicable certifications or/and equivalent professional or military experience. Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications. Experience with CISCO, Juniper and other commodity networking devices
Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)
All candidates must possess a valid driver's license, their own vehicle, and will need to pass a driving record check to operate company vehicles. Travel between sites/locations during the workday may occur

**OCC and Maintenance Engineer**
+ Provides 7x24 onsite support and respond to operational emergencies.

+ Ensure customer safe systems of work and ISO procedures are adhered to at all times by staff and visitors.
+ Respond to all accidents, injuries and incidents.
+ Carry out investigation and diagnosis of faults and breakdowns as directed by the Customer Data Center Facilities Management Team.
+ Electrical installation and modification in accordance with current regulations (BS th edition).
+ Construction, modification, and commissioning of control panels.
+ Carry out ad hoc daily power works installs as requested by DCO/DCE on a daily basis.
+ Inspection, verification, testing and certification of electrical systems in accordance with BS7671 and customer ongoing rolling program as directed by the Customer Data Center Facilities Management Team.
+ Carry out minor repairs where feasible to do so, as opposed to passing over to the day maintenance team. Filters, strainers, lamp replacement etc.
+ Complete project and/or upgrade work as agreed with the Customer Data Center Facilities Management Team.
+ Participate in commissioning of systems and plant measuring and setting flow rates, configuring controllers, debugging logic programs etc.
+ Continuously check and validate site record drawings and documentation for clarity, condition and request replacements where required. Mark-up/advise any discrepancies/alterations to the Customer Data Centre facilities Management Team. Once updated information/drawings are provided, ensure that new records & drawings are in place and old versions removed.
+ Issue and management of all CBRE and CBRE subcontractor permits.
+ Participation as required in the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001 certification process and audits, and the correlation of data as required for internal/external audit purposes and internal reporting.
+ Participation in the correlation/compilation of data as required and other tasks in relation to our annual audits (SOC 2, ISO's etc.).
+ Fire systems management
+ Emergency lighting maintenance and testing.
+ Research in relation to replacement parts and procurement as directed by the Customer Data Center Facilities Management Team.

A unique opportunity to join AWS as a Data Centre Technician. You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on one or more operating systems. You will be able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. Issues are escalated to the appropriate resolver groups when necessary. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to convey Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) to junior staff. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.



You are able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as an escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.



Regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation and requirement to provide shift coverage during emergencies. This may include responding to after-hours calls, working outside regular business hours, 12-hour shifts, or rotating shifts to ensure operational coverage during critical situations. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.



Responsibilities:

- Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLAs)

- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures

- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work

- Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the regionu2019s sites

- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.

- Must be commutable to the Thames Valley Region.

- Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)

- All candidates must possess a valid driver's license, their own vehicle, and will need to pass a driving record check to operate company vehicles. Travel between sites/locations during the workday may occur
