We're working with a forward-thinking organisation that is looking for a Data & Insights Engineer to bring fresh ideas, analytical sharpness, and commercial awareness to a growing team. This is a pivotal, high-impact role where you'll work closely with senior leadership to transform raw data into actionable insights that shape the future of the business.
Based in the Ecommerce team , you'll work across the entire organisation - from logistics, supply chain, and distribution through to warehousing and ecommerce performance. A significant portion of the role will involve working with ecommerce-heavy datasets , supporting the business in driving growth, optimising performance, and unlocking new opportunities through data. You'll also play a key role in systems integration projects as the business onboards new technologies and transitions into a brand-new National Distribution Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Migration & Integration : Support and lead systems integration projects, ensuring accurate and efficient data transmission between platforms.
Data Management : Collect, store, and maintain data from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy, quality, and security.
Analysis & Insight : Interrogate complex datasets - with a strong focus on ecommerce performance - to uncover opportunities for improvement, increase efficiency, streamline operations, and drive business profitability.
Reporting & Dashboards : Build automated and ad-hoc dashboards/reports that deliver accessible insights to senior stakeholders and wider teams.
Collaboration : Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven decision-making is embedded across the business.
What We're Looking For:
Strong proficiency in SQL (essential).
Experience with data migration, ETL, and pipeline development (e.g., Airflow, Fabric, Azure).
Familiarity with APIs (REST API, JSON), data mapping, validation, and quality control.
Ability to design, build, and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Looker Studio, Excel or similar).
Strong general technical ability; exposure to tools such as SSMS, Docker, Git/GitHub is desirable.
Flexible skills with programming/scripting languages - Python is beneficial.
Background in ecommerce, retail, supply chain, or distribution advantageous.
Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
