Job Description
Our client, , is rebuilding a major customer options/configurator platform, the system that lets buyers choose upgrades and finishes for their new products. The current platform works well on the front end but suffers from a complex, inconsistent data structure at the back end.
This project will modernise that platform from the ground up ensuring data is structured correctly, flows seamlessly into core business systems, and supports future analytics.
The Role
SF Technology is supporting the search for a Data Mapping & Integration Analyst to sit between the business, the application development team, and the data function.
This is not a developer role, it’s a hands-on data design and mapping position, focused on how data is captured, structured, and shared across systems. You’ll unpick the current state, define the to-be data model, and ensure the rebuild is grounded in solid data architecture from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and document as-is data structures (JSON, SQL) from the legacy configurator application.
- Design and define the to-be data model, capturing key entities, relationships, and integration points.
- Develop and maintain detailed source-to-target mappings to guide migration and system build.
- Collaborate with developers, solution architects, and business SMEs to ensure alignment between functional and data requirements.
- Identify and resolve data consistency and lineage issues early in the project lifecycle.
- Produce clear documentation, data dictionaries, ERDs, and mapping artefacts, for ongoing reference.
Ideal Experience
- Proven experience delivering data mapping, migration, or application rebuild projects.
- Skilled in SQL (for profiling and validation) and comfortable working with JSON or semi-structured data.
- Strong background in data modelling, logical/physical design and entity relationship mapping.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate between technical and business teams.
- Experience with ERP, CPQ, or product/pricing systems (retail, manufacturing, construction, or utilities preferred).
- Understanding of integration and data flow between operational and analytical systems.
