As a Senior Data Governance Manager (Platform Governance) you will play a key role in ensuring that the BBC’s existing and upcoming data platforms are the best they can possibly be, providing reliable, trustworthy, well managed and understood data to the whole organisation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- A varied and impactful role including such key responsibilities as:
- Advising Platform Engineering, Platform Architecture and Data Governance colleagues on the strategic direction and day-to-day implementation of platform governance across the BBC’s new data platform.
- Develop, document and promote platform-specific guidance on governance controls related to data sharing and ingestion pipelines, ensuring these are enforced through automation wherever possible.
- Defining and overseeing controls for data lifecycle governance, including data classification, access policies (RBAC/ABAC), and audit capabilities.
- Leading collaboration with Data Producers and Platform Engineering to define best practices in layered data management (e.g., medallion architecture), and establish robust monitoring and alerting for platform compliance.
- Collaborate with software, engineering and architecture teams to implement shift-left governance, ensuring governance metadata is captured during pipeline and platform development.
- Embed and support data contract practices to govern Producer / Consumer relationships within the platform.
- Act as a subject matter expert across internal data governance initiatives that touch platform services, ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and regulatory obligations.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Broad data governance experience including creating and monitoring frameworks, writing standards and processes, and managing & utilising metadata.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong track record in building lasting and positive relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence engineering teams and platform stakeholders through advisory leadership and practical governance guidance.
- Experience in understanding and working with data stored and processed in cloud-based data platforms, ideally in the AWS ecosystem e.g. Redshift, S3, AWS Glue.
- Knowledge and experience of designing and implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) in a modern data platform.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- The management and stewardship of Data Products, ideally incorporating a data catalogue-based marketplace.

About the Role
The role will provide subject matter expertise for Watchlist Screening initiatives across the Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) division of LexisNexis Risk Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy for our Screening business. You will work closely with all functions including product, technology, data operations, marketing, and professional services to ensure an end-to-end focus for data, software, and operational automation. This leader will drive product improvements through enhancements in false positive reduction, utilizing advance analytics and modelling techniques. The leader will also need to keep current with FCC compliance requirements, industry trends and compliance best practices.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy for our Screening business.
+ Motivate and educate internal sales teams, both Direct and Alliances, on the key aspects of FCC transaction monitoring solutions.
+ Perform ideation, research, and planning to develop product strategies and roadmaps to meet customer needs.
+ Partner with Marketing and Regional Market Planners to expand market presence, heighten brand awareness and trust, and intelligently drive qualified leads to Sales.
+ Partner with Professional Services on consultative selling and customer management.
+ Develop market segmentation and identify unique needs of each key segment, to help inform GTM approach for screening solutions, across regions and industries.
+ Continually develop compelling case studies to highlight the value of our screening solutions, accelerating sales and increasing win rates.
+ Meet with select high value clients to ensure they are getting the most value they can from our solutions
+ Provide insight and research on competitive intelligence, market sizing, industry trends, regulatory trends and market drivers to inform strategy and improve knowledge sharing across the organisation.
+ Stay up to date with emerging trends in data technologies, analytics, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for innovation that can improve business performance.
Experience / Skills:
+ Must have advanced knowledge of FinCEN and FFIEC guidance as well as BSA compliance, and a minimum of five years of experience conducting complex investigations involving various typologies.
+ Cross-functional leadership and the ability to work effectively with key partners across a large, global and matrixed organization.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
+ Proficiency at managing complex agendas.

This leader will drive product improvements through enhancements in false positive reduction, utilizing advance analytics and modelling techniques. The leader will also need to keep current with FCC compliance requirements, industry trends and compliance best practices.
Position is open to candidates who are remote in the US or Europe.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy for our Portals business.
+ Motivate and educate internal sales teams, both Direct and Alliances, on the key aspects of FCC Online solutions.
+ Perform ideation, research, and planning to develop product strategies and roadmaps to meet customer needs.
+ Partner with Marketing and Regional Market Planners to expand market presence, heighten brand awareness and trust, and intelligently drive qualified leads to Sales.
+ Partner with Professional Services on consultative selling and customer management.
+ Develop market segmentation and identify unique needs of each key segment, to help inform GTM approach for portals solutions, across regions and industries.
+ Continually develop compelling case studies to highlight the value of our portals solutions, accelerating sales and increasing win rates.
+ Meet with select high value clients to ensure they are getting the most value they can from our solutions
+ Provide insight and research on competitive intelligence, market sizing, industry trends, regulatory trends and market drivers to inform strategy and improve knowledge sharing across the organisation.
+ Stay up to date with emerging trends in data technologies, analytics, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for innovation that can improve business performance.
Experience / Skills:
+ Must have advanced knowledge of FinCEN and FFIEC guidance as well as BSA compliance, and a minimum of five years of experience conducting complex investigations involving various typologies.
+ Cross-functional leadership and the ability to work effectively with key partners across a large, global and matrixed organization.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
+ Proficiency at managing complex agendas.
+ Additional skills required include business acumen and strategic planning, disciplined management of team and agenda, critical thinking and analytical skill, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Domain expertise in the FCC space.
+ Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning concepts and their application in business processes is a plus.

Are you ready to shape the future of data in financial services? We’re looking for a passionate Data Management Specialist to help drive our enterprise-wide data transformation.
In this exciting role, you’ll be at the heart of delivering our Data Strategy, leading on the rollout of Purview, enhancing our Data Management capabilities, supporting the rollout of Microsoft Fabric. You’ll work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment to embed best-in-class data practices and governance across the business.
This is a hybrid role with some presence required at our Bournemouth office. This role is a Fixed Term Contract for an initial 6 months.
About You
Essential:
•Proven experience in data management/governance preferably within Financial Services.
•Hands-on implementation experience with tools like Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
•Solid SQL skills and familiarity with Azure, Fabric, or other cloud platforms.
•Knowledge of data privacy regulations (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018) and ETL processes.
Preferred:
•Purview implementation experience.
•Certifications such as DAMA/CDMP.
•Experience in data remediation, migration, and quality improvement projects.
•Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, compliance, and business teams.
The Details
•Spearheading the development of our Data Management roadmap, introducing key capabilities like Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Lineage, Business Glossaries, and Data Dictionaries.
•Strengthening our Data Ownership and Stewardship communities and championing our Data Literacy programme.
•Collaborating with the IT communities, Data Office and Data Privacy function to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across all business lines.
•Leading the implementation of Purview and supporting the migration to Microsoft Fabric, ensuring sensitive data is protected and risks are mitigated.
•Partner with the Head of Data, Data Governance Lead and Data Quality Lead to build a high-impact Data Governance team.
•Define and implement data management strategies aligned with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239).
•Act as a technical advisor and coach for our Accountable Executives, Data Owners and Stewards, delivering training and guidance.
•Drive MDM initiatives and collaborate with SCV Engineers to deliver a unified customer view.
•Conduct audits, support data migration, and ensure robust data classification and retention practices.
