Description
We're looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our startup team, bringing deep Database expertise to startups across EMEA. This role combines technical depth with customer obsession and strategic insight to help startups innovate and scale using AWS technologies.
Working as part of our Specialist Go-To-Market (GTM) organization, you'll partner with a Specialist BD to develop and execute strategies that drive AWS adoption in the Database space. You'll contribute your technical expertise as an advisor to startups, work strategically with internal teams, and help lead our Database Community of Practice. Together with your Database BD, you'll create and execute sales plays and scaling motions that address the unique needs of startup customers and enable both customers and our Solution Architect community. Your role will involve designing and leading technical workshops focused on Database-specific use cases, creating proof-of-concept programs to demonstrate the value of AWS Database services, crafting industry-specific solutions that showcase AWS capabilities in Database and developing migration accelerators for startups.
You'll also play a crucial role in bringing startup feedback to AWS service teams, helping ensure our Database offerings evolve to meet the needs of emerging companies. This role offers you the opportunity to work with some of the most innovative startups in EMEA, helping them leverage AWS technology to accelerate their growth and success.
Key job responsibilities
* Serve as the primary technical expert for AWS Database technologies, advising startup customers on architecting and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions
* Partner with Account teams to support priority opportunities and customers
* Contribute to the Database Community of Practice for the EMEA region, enabling the SA community, communicating product updates and scaling go-to-market activities
* Gather and synthesize startup customer feedback, serving as a liaison to AWS service teams to influence product development
* Develop and deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions for both internal and external audiences
* Create scalable assets such as reference architectures, whitepapers, and blog posts to showcase best practices in Database for startups

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Substantial hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
- Deep expertise in relational database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL. Nice to haves include expertise in vector, document, in-memory, non-relational and graph databases, as well as database migrations.
- Experience working with or in startups, or in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Meet the team

We are looking for a Data Management Specialist to join our Demonstration Data Management Group (DDX), based in the UK and supporting UK and Canadian data environments. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Managers and Leaders across Australia, the UK, the US, and Canada, contributing to the development and maintenance of high-quality demonstration data.

You’ll be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining accurate, complete, and reliable data used to demonstrate LEAP to clients and internal teams. Training will be provided on the DDX Tool.

**Overview of Resource Management Team:**
The goal of the team is to provide a "one stop solution" for the supply and demand of people across Technology. Ensuring all resource management processes are robust, and deliver the necessary outcomes for Technology. We achieve this by ensuring that resource data is accurate, complete and available on a timely basis through various reporting deliverables. The team work closely with HR, Finance, Project Governance, Project Delivery, Procurement and Technology leads to inform and educate, as well as executing changes directly. The team is divided into two main functions, the role in question fits within the Technology Resource Data Management sub-team.
**Resource Data Management**
+ Manage cleaning resource data in workday.
+ Run training via the new starter induction and creation of org charts on Kizuna.
+ Creation of headcount reporting data monthly / quarterly / annually.
**Technology Recruitment**
+ Process all recruitment requests for BAU and Project. Monitoring budget against hiring / replacing / extending staff.
+ Creation of recruitment and rate reporting.

**The primary purpose of the Resource Data Management Analyst is to:**
+ Own and clean the resource data in workday which is the golden source. The team receives updates on resource data from multiple sources for example line managers and business supports. From that point onwards the teams is to educate others to follow the process, rather than our team completing the actions.
+ Own, produce and publish the headcount data per month, per quarter and annual with the use of excel and power BI.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead daily team stand up via teams.
+ Run daily checks on resource data changes/updates in workday. Method for this is a combination of excel macros and power queries
+ Creation of weekly reporting to HR to highlight changes. Method for this is excel macros.
+ Creation of weekly reporting to line managers to highlight contingent worker end dates within the next 10 weeks. Method for this is excel macros.
+ Co-ordinating with the line managers, HR, procurement and access management regarding JML process.
+ Creation of monthly headcount reporting. Method for this is a combination of excel and power BI.
+ Ensure resource cost data is accurate for reporting into Finance to calculate budgets.
+ Creation of office attendance for contingent workers. Method for this is excel macros.
+ Run the Technology new starter induction, which occurs twice a month.
+ Creation of the Technology organisation chart. Method for this is via Visio.
+ Maintain and enhance good working relationships with the teams stakeholders.
**Skills and Experience:**
Technical Capability
+ Strong excel skills. Be able to build and run macros and power queries.
+ Strong power BI skills. Be able to build and update reporting in power BI.
+ Strong visio skills. Be able to create workflows and org charts.
+ Strong numerical skills. To aid day-to-day activities.
+ Degree level educated. Although equivalent work experience, or apprentice level experience also relevant.

Job Description

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Serve as primary point of contact for customer on data management deliverables
+ Manage multiple large studies or program of studies (possibly global)
+ Provide leadership and senior support to DTLs on multiple large global programs of global studies
+ Provide project management expertise working with customer data managers, key decision makers, and internal team members to manage continuous process improvements, issue escalation, workload projections, and provide technical expertise
+ Lead direct negotiations with customer, e.g., timelines, financial, process, resources
+ Meet with Data Operations team members on a regular basis to ensure milestones meet timelines and quality deliverables
+ Independently manage DM service delivery with comprehensive DM process and technical expertise in executing projects
+ Serve as the escalation point for unresolved data issues
+ Ensure appropriate resources are assigned to meet project deliverables
+ Create and/or review and sign-off on all data management plan (DMP) documents
+ Manage service performance and provide leadership to identify root causes of issues and implement remedial actions
+ Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
+ Provide leadership and expertise in a specific CDM task or technology
+ Independently manage SOW/budget
+ Independently bring process improvements and solutions to the CDM team/CDM department
+ Lead a focus team or global or local best practice team
+ Provide review and expert opinion in developing, revising, and maintaining core operating procedures and work instructions
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ Previous experience and proven competence in managing delivery of multiple global trials through full DM life-cycle (i.e. large trials of at least 1000 patients)
+ Demonstrated expert data management skills and advanced knowledge of the data management process (e.g., therapeutic area, extensive knowledge in DM processes, SAE reconciliation, external data vendor reconciliation)
+ Previous experience and proven competence in handling complex customer negotiations and bid defense meetings independently
+ Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, and/or Physiology
+ Knowledge of operating procedures and work instructions and the ability to apply them in practice
+ Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and relevant regulatory guidelines
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills
+ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent project management skills
+ Ability to work independently
+ Comprehensive understanding of clinical drug development process
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and customers
**MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
+ Bachelor's Degree, or educational equivalent, in health, clinical, biological or mathematical sciences, or related field
+ Around 7 years direct Data Management experience, including 5 or more years as a CDM project lead; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
